Ben Affleck opens up about his alcoholic past

Ben Affleck

Hollywood celebrity Ben Affleck has opened up about how an alcoholic past helped him as an actor.

In a recent interview, Ben Affleck shed light on it all saying, “I feel like my own acting, at least by my own standards, has gotten better as I’ve gotten older, and had more life experiences and had more stuff to access.”

He also admitted that his time on 2010’s The Town and 2012’s Argo were what made him a better actor, “This was a bit atypical for me. I’ve kind of changed as an actor, my approach, particularly from before and after I started directing, because it was really instructive.”

“I learned more about acting from directing than I did from acting classes. There’s something really valuable about being on the other side, and seeing what works and what doesn’t. And what you can do “ditorially, and just getting used to the sound of your own stupid voice.”

The movie in question will feature Jack Cunningham under mysterious circumstances back in the day.

The only reason Affleck understands the plight of that player is because of his own past. He explained to the publication, “With a role like that, I am an alcoholic, so I understood to a certain extent the alcoholism, but I haven’t lost a child.”

“This guy’s had a very different life from mine, but what was interesting about the story was I hoped people would find some catharsis in watching him go through something very difficult. I was concerned that I have to find ways to make this as realistic as possible.”

Kuwait’s emir reappoints Sheikh Sabah as country’s PM

Sheikh Sabah Reappointed as Kuwait's PM

Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Sabah has on Sunday reappointed Sheikh Sabah al-Khalid al-Sabah as the country’s prime minister and assigned him the task of forming a new government.

According to reports, Sheikh Nawaf ordered Sheikh Sabah to submit the names of the new members of Kuwait’s cabinet so that he could approve their appointment.

The announcement comes after the cabinet resigned last week in a standoff with parliament over its vote to question the prime minister.

The motion to question Sheikh Sabah was submitted by three lawmakers earlier this month.

More than half of parliament’s members supported this step.

Recurring deadlock between Kuwait’s executive and legislative branches has led to seven dissolution of parliament, the resignation of 14 governments and the appointment of three prime ministers in just 14 years.

This has weighed on government planning, not least in the crucially important oil sector, with the oil minister changing 13 times in 16 years. Oil minister Mohammed Abdul Latif al-Fares was in office for less than a month before the cabinet’s resignation.

He is currently acting oil minister until the new government is formed, and he is either replaced on retained in his position.

Our sole focus is on the South Africa series, says Misbah-ul-Haq

Misbah

While talking to the media in a virtual presser, the Pakistan cricket team’s head coach Misbah-ul-Haq said that he is not worried about the future as he is only focusing on the South Africa series.

Haq accepted that the national team’s performance was poor in the previous matches played against the international teams, however, the home series against South Africa has given the team a great opportunity to prove themselves once again.

“Not satisfied with the performance and want to improve on that. Our sole focus is on the South Africa series and I’m not focusing on what will happen in the future,” Misbah said.

“I don’t believe that (my future) has anything to do with the South Africa series. I have always played cricket under pressure and you have to perform. Have always believed and learned to do well in the present rather than looking ahead,” he added.

The 46-year-old Misbah also told the reason why National High-Performance Center (NHPC) coaches Saqlain Mushtaq and Mohammad Yousuf are with the side.

“I have listened to different speculations regarding them. The main goal of calling Saqlain Bhai was to work with the new spinners and Yousuf Bhai was to see what batsmen are doing,” he revealed.

“People have made up impression that if three people (including Younis Khan) will tell them, they will get confused. There’s no such thing as we are trying to work together as if these players go back to NHPC, they know what areas need to be addressed.”

It should be mentioned here that Pakistan and South Africa will face each other to play two Tests in Karachi and Rawalpindi from January 26th.
