Why is #KanganaAwardWapasKar trending on twitter?

Kangana Ranaut

Bollywood’s most outspoken star Kangana Ranaut has landed into new trouble as #KanganaAwardWapasKar became a top trend on Twitter after speculation about Sushant Singh Rajput’s death being a ‘murder’.

Earlier, Kangana Ranaut had claimed in an interview that she would return her Padma Shri if she couldn’t prove claims of SSR getting murdered and not dying of suicide.

“#KanganaAwardWapasKar Death of Sushant was, like any death, tragic indeed, particularly suicides. But the way he was dishonoured after death by media, Bhakts and BJP is unforgivable. @KanganaTeam was the most vile among them. She had gone promising return of her awards,” one user wrote.

“Kanagna & Arnab tried their best to defame Bwood & Mumbai police by using SSR’s death. There is no doubt both r on the payroll of BJP. After AIIMS & CBI reports both should apologise to Nation, also KR should return her Padma Shri as she promised,” added another.

“Raise your hand if you want to see @KanganaTeam Returning Padma Shri on live tv since all of her conspiracies on sushant’s death turn out to be a farce just like herself! #KanganaAwardWapasKar,” a third user claimed in.

Saif Ali Khan calls out hypocrisy of awards shows, termed them a ‘big tamasha’

Saif Ali Khan

Bollywood’s iconic actor Saif Ali Khan criticized award shows for being hypocritical and nothing more than a ‘big tamasha’.

During an interview, the Kal Ho Na Ho star revealed how he was once downgraded at an award show when he did not receive the award he was called for.

Saif was told the last minute that he will not be receiving an award he was told he would as someone else pressured them.

“Yes, I was seen to be undeserving of the few awards that I received earlier in my career, including the National award for Hum Tum. But I think over the years I’ve proven myself to be more worthy of recognition,” said Saif.

“To be honest, I don’t believe in them. Some years ago I was called for an awards function. When I got there someone higher up in the organization told me, ‘We wanted to give you the Best Actor award. But you know how it is. We’ll give you the award for Best Actor in a comic role.’”

“Why we haven’t created that environment of camaraderie is a debate for some student of sociology to figure out,” he said.

“As I see them, awards functions are an excuse to make some money by performing on stage. If you have intelligence, then you spend the money well. That’s what awards are worth as far as I can see. It’s not about pretending to be an art of a community,” he added.

‘Churails ban’: Asim Abbasi, Osama Khalid Butt & others express outrage

Churails banned in Pakistan

Pakistan’s web-series Churails has been banned in Pakistan, which was streamed on Zee5, an India-based platform.

The director of Churails, Asim Abbasi took to social media to express his disappointment and hurt over the move.

“How strange for Churails to be lauded internationally, and now be shut down in its country of origin,” wrote Abbasi on social media. “In the very country where hundreds of artists came together to create something that could initiate dialogue and open doors for new narratives. Artistic freedom squashed because it is wrongly perceived by some as a moral threat. Predictable, and yet, still disappointing.”

The director added, “For this is not just my loss. This is a loss for women and marginalised communities that this show meant to re-represent.”

Trump ‘back-to-work’ with no virus symptoms, is fever-free for 4 days

Trump's Last Hope Dashed, Plea Seeking Annulment Of Election Rejected

United States (US) President Donald Trump, who was hospitalized after testing COVID–19 positive, has returned to work fever-free.

Trump on Wednesday held briefings at the Oval Office less than a week after he contracted the novel Coronavirus.

The president has had no virus symptoms for more than 24 hours and has been fever-free for more than four days, his doctor said.

In a video message on Wednesday, Trump said he felt “great”, adding: “I think this was a blessing from God.”

He said he wanted all Americans to have access to the treatments he was given.

The president also promised to provide the drugs produced by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals free of charge.

He said the experimental antibody cocktail he was given last week was a cure rather than a therapeutic measure, adding that hundreds of thousands of doses were nearly ready.

“This was a blessing in disguise – I caught it, I heard about this drug, I said let me take it and it was incredible,” he said.

Trump further added that he would seek emergency use authorizations for the drugs.

President Trump renewed his attacks on China, telling Americans: “You’re not going to pay for it. It wasn’t your fault that this happened. It was China’s fault. And China is going to pay a big price. This was China’s fault.”

Earlier, Dr. Conley said the president had not needed any supplemental oxygen since going to the hospital on Friday. He was discharged on Monday.

George Floyd murder: Suspect officer Derek Chauvin freed on bail

George Floyd murder

Derek Chauvin chocked George Floyd’s neck for around 9 munites. He was charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.

However, Derek Chauvin posted a $1m bond and was released from the prison.

George Floyd’s death led to global protests and calls for police reform, spurred by the Black Lives Matter movement.

More than three police officers were charged in Floyd’s death. They also had been granted bail by a judge at $1 million each under certain conditions.

A judge has set bail under conditions including they do not work in law enforcement or are connected to Floyd’s family.

J. Alexander Kueng, Thomas Lane, and Tou Thao were also charged with aiding and abetting murder.

For now, all four officers accused in connection with the killing of Mr. Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota, have posted bail and are free until their trial next year.

Earlier, a lawyer for George Floyd had said in a memorial service that a “pandemic of racism” caused his death.

Lawyer Benjamin Crump said it was “not the coronavirus pandemic that killed George Floyd”.

“It was that other pandemic,” he had said. “The pandemic of racism and discrimination.”

Moreover, The Black Lives Matter demonstrations – some of which turned violent – became a central political issue in the run-up to November’s US presidential elections.
