Jaideep Ahlawat to play key role in Manoj Bajpayee’s ‘The Family Man’

Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of season three of “The Family Man,” and according to a new report, Jaideep Ahlawat will play a key role in the series, going head-to-head with Manoj Bajpayee.

As per Filmfare, Jaideep “has a very prominent role” in the upcoming season. A source shared, “It’s really unfair to reveal character arcs and key storylines of a show or film that hasn’t released. But I can tell you that Jaideep has a very prominent role in ‘The Family Man’ Season 3. His character will go up against Manoj Bajpayee’s Srikant, and the audiences will get to watch these two legends of the screen play off each other’s energies.”

Actor Priyamani, who plays Suchitra, recently teased the upcoming season as a thrilling experience. “I’m looking forward to season three of the show. I’m very excited and anxious. I’m hoping this season also does well. Wait and watch season three. It’s going to be a roller coaster ride, expect the unexpected,” Priyamani told PTI during a Mani Ratnam retrospective event at G5A.

“The Family Man 3,” written by Suman Kumar and Raj Nidimoru & Krishna DK, recently concluded filming and is expected to premiere around Diwali 2025 on Prime Video. Showrunners Raj & DK called it their toughest shoot yet and expressed gratitude to the crew for their dedication.

The series debuted in 2019 to critical acclaim, with its second season in 2021 receiving similar praise, especially for Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s performance.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, conducted prior to the release of “Jaane Jaan,” Kareena Kapoor Khan, along with Vijay Varma, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Sujoy Ghosh, discussed her debut in the digital domain, the resurgence of the theatrical industry, her desire to revisit a particular film genre, and more.

During an exclusive interview with Himesh Mankad, Kareena was asked about the film genre she would like to explore again. She responded with a witty remark, stating, “As an actor, I want to revisit a good script again and again. I want to revisit a time when you are reading a script in your bedroom and you’re thinking, ‘Oh my God. I can’t wait to play the character.’ There’s no particular genre. I want to attempt; I mean I’m an actor and I just want to do everything.” Her response emphasized the significance of well-crafted film scripts in today’s entertainment landscape and the eagerness of actors to be part of projects featuring intricately developed characters.

Kareena also shared her reasons for choosing to work on “Jaane Jaan,” expressing her admiration for Sujoy Ghosh and her fondness for the thriller genre. Following the release of “Jaane Jaan,” Kareena is set to appear in “The Crew,” alongside Kriti Sanon, Tabu, and others. The film revolves around three industrious women entangled in a web of deception. Additionally, she has completed filming for an intense murder mystery directed by Hansal Mehta.

Fans are eagerly anticipating Kareena Kapoor Khan’s upcoming projects, with “Jaane Jaan” scheduled for release on Netflix on Thursday, September 21, 2023.

Having established her dominion in television and cinema, Kareena is now poised to venture into the world of OTT with Sujoy Ghosh’s project titled “Jaane Jaan.” This Netflix original movie also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma. The cast recently took to social media to officially announce the upcoming mystery thriller. The story revolves around a single mother’s attempt to conceal her estranged husband’s murder with assistance from her neighbor.

Given that this marks Kareena’s debut in the OTT realm, the creators have strategically scheduled the film’s release on her birthday, September 21. Following the formal announcement, actor Jaideep Ahlawat shared several pictures posing with co-stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Vijay Varma. Both Kareena and Jaideep made a striking pair. Kareena Kapoor Khan donned an all-red ensemble paired with nude pumps, while Jaideep sported a light purple coat and pants matched with a quirky shirt. The trio posed together in another snapshot, with Vijay looking sharp in a finely tailored grey suit.

Jaideep captioned the images with, “Kaatilana🧨#JaaneJaan @kareenakapoorkhan if only looks could kill, am I right or am I right!!??? #jaanejaan Don’t you agree bade babu @itsvijayvarma !!??”

Kareena promptly responded to Jaideep’s post, commenting, “Kaatilaana tho aapke performance pe hoga.” Jaideep reciprocated her comment, writing, “Aapki Zarra-Nawazi hai ye to. Aap Apni Performance se Saari Duniya ko Hattprabh karne wale ho.”

Their playful exchange on Jaideep’s post garnered the attention of netizens, who eagerly anticipate the creative synergy of this trio. Beyond “Jaane Jaan,” Kareena is also set to appear in “The Buckingham Murders,” a film she is co-producing. In 2024, the actress will grace the screen in “The Crew.”

An Action Hero, the actor’s only full-length movie, came out on December 2. Ayushmann Khurrana plays Manaav, a movie star who is on the run after killing someone by accident. Jaideep plays Bhoora, the dead man’s brother. Even though critics and fans liked the movie, it didn’t do well at the box office.

The actor, in an interview, spoke about why he doesn’t have expectations for his projects. While he shared that the intention when making a film is that it be seen by as many people as possible, sometimes things don’t work out. Jaideep explained, “I mean, after a movie bombs, doesn’t anyone look back and try to figure out what went wrong? People aren’t going to the theatres to see it, even though almost all of the reviews are good. It’s a little sad, and no one likes to stay in that mood for too long. So many people worked hard to make it happen, so it’s not a good feeling. No, I don’t worry about it, though.”

In the interview he added, “It’s a smart film, it is fast-paced, it has humour, it has action. Anyone who has seen it has only said nice things to me about the film, so it can get a little confusing when people at large don’t come to watch the film. But it’s okay.” Taking a philosophical approach, the actor said, “It’s a phase, sometimes it pans out and sometimes it doesn’t. No point beating oneself for it. I think as a society we’re still not at the point where we’re going to the theatres like we used to, in the pre-pandemic times. I think aadat thodi kam padh gayi hai [we’re less used to it]. It’s my personal theory, but hopefully this phase ends and we tide through it.”
