The list of Kangana Ranaut’s favorite movies was posted on Twitter. The actor was retweeting a user who had posted his own list on Twitter. On Tuesday, Kangana celebrated nine years since the release of her movie Queen, yet she only named one Hindi film as her favorite. And it was none other than Pyaasa, a 1957 cult favorite from Guru Dutt.
When Kangana shared the list, she commented, “My favorite eight movies, watch them if you haven’t already. Two films: The Shawshank Redemption and Amadeus No. 3 American Beauty Pyaasa 4) 5) Amour Six) The Seven-Year Itch Interstellar 7) The Notebook (8).
Guru Dutt played a disillusioned Urdu poet in Pyaasa, which he also produced, wrote, and directed. The ensemble cast of the movie also included Mala Sinha, Waheeda Rehman, Rehman, and Johnny Walker. Kangana mentioned a variety of Hollywood productions, ranging from cerebral sci-fi thriller Interstellar by Christopher Nolan to romantic classics like Amour, Ryan Gosling’s The Notebook, Marilyn Monroe’s Seven Year Itch, and more. The Swashank Redemption starring Morgan Freeman made Kangana’s list, just like it did for many other movie fans.
Chandramukhi 2, Kangana’s upcoming Tamil film, is currently in production. She has been studying dance for quite a few months and will be seen in the movie as a classical dancer.
She recently finished filming Emergency, a solo project in which she would play the former prime minister Indira Gandhi. Jayaprakash Narayan is portrayed in the movie by Anupam Kher, Atal Bihari Vajpayee by Shreyas Talpade, Indira Gandhi’s close confidante by Mahima Chaudhary, Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw by Milind Soman, Sanjay Gandhi by Vishak Nair, and Jagjivan Ram by Satish Kaushik.
She has also finished production on Tejas, but the movie has not yet received a release date. In the movie, she portrays an air force pilot. The release date for her production vehicle Tiku Weds Sheru is still pending. Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur play the lead roles. She also revealed Sita: The Incarnation and the Manikarnika sequel.
