Security forces eliminate nine terrorists including ring leader in Bajaur

RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed nine terrorists (Khwarji) including high profile ring leader in an intelligence based operation in Bajaur District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP).

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted an intelligence based operation in Bajaur District on reported presence of terrorists (Khwarij).

During conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the terrorists (Khwarij) location and after intense fire exchange, nine terrorists (Khwarij), including two Suicide Bombers and a high value target Kharji ring leader Said Muhammad @Qureshi Ustad were sent to hell.

A large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives was also recovered from killed terrorists (Khwarij), who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces as well as innocent civilians.

Sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists (Kharji) found in the area, as security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.

RAWALPINDI: The security forces killed two Khwarij terrorists and apprehended five in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted in different districts of Balochistan province.

According the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted a successful IBO in District Pishin on reported presence of Khawarij and apprehended five of them and a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives including three Suicide Vests were seized.

Apprehended Khawarij were involved in multiple terrorist attacks and were planning to target security forces as well as innocent civilians, it said.

In another operation in District Zhob on October 17, during a fire exchange with security forces, two Khawarijs were sent to hell.

In ensuing sanitisation of the area, weapons and ammunition were also recovered in large quantity.

“Security forces of Pakistan remain steadfast in their commitment to eradicate terrorism from the country and protect innocent civilians from this menace,” the ISPR said.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the officers and soldiers of security forces for successful operation against Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists in districts Pishin and Zhob.

In a statement, the prime minster congratulated the security forces for their commendable efforts, which resulted in the arrest of five Khawarij, and killing of two others. The operation also led to the seizure of a large amount of weapons and explosive materials.

“The entire nation including myself, pays tribute to the brave Pak army soldiers and officers for purging the country from Fitna al-Khawarij.”

Pakistan, KSA Bilateral Defence Industrial Forum held at Riyadh

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia reaffirmed their desire to enhance defence cooperation in all domains to achieve self-sufficiency in the field of defence production, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

According to the ISPR, 7th meeting of Pakistan-KSA Bilateral Defence Industrial Forum was held at Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

Pakistan tri services delegation was led by Chief of General Staff (CGS), Lieutenant General Muhammad Avais Dastgir, whereas, Assistant Defence Minister, Engr Talal Bin Abdullah Al Otaibi led the Saudi Arabian side.

During the meeting, dignitary from the KSA acknowledged Pakistan’s achievements and sacrifices in war against terrorism and its valuable contributions towards regional peace and stability.

The forum discussed challenges to global and regional security and their implications on Defence Forces.

The forum noted that rapid advancements in modern technologies necessitated further enhancing defence industrial cooperation in critical capabilities between the two brotherly countries. In this context, progress of ongoing areas of collaboration was reviewed while new areas of collaboration were also agreed.

Lt Col among six soldiers martyred in North Waziristan

RAWALPINDI: A lieutenant colonel among six Pakistani soldiers were  martyred during a gun battle with terrorists in Spinwarm area of North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said that the exchange of fire between the two sides took place on the night between October 4 and 5, during which “six Khwarij” were also killed.

Lt Col Muhammad Ali Shaukat was leading the operation against the khwarij when he and five soldiers were martyred as a result of intense exchange of fire.

Lt. Col. Muhammad Ali Shaukat, aged 43, hailed from Faisalabad. He leaves behind his wife and three sons.

According to the ISPR, all the fallen soldiers had served the nation with valor. Lance Naik Muhammad Ullah had completed 13 years of service, while Akhtar Zaman had served for 10 years.

“Security forces are determined to eradicate the menace of terrorism. Sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our determination,” the statement added.

Earlier, Law Enforcement Agencies(LEA) conducted a joint intelligence based operation in general area Charbagh, Swat District.

During the conduct of operation, after an intense fire exchange, two khwarij including Kharji ring leader Atta Ullah aka Mehran were sent to hell, while one kharji was apprehended in injured condition.

Kharji Atta Ullah aka Mehran remained actively involved in numerous terrorists activities in the area including the Improvised Explosive Device blast on a Police Vehicle escorting the convoy of foreign dignitaries in Swat on 22 September 2024.

Security forces kill 8 terrorists in North Waziristan

RAWALPINDI: At least eight terrorists have been killed during an intelligence based operation (IBO) by the security forces in general area Razmak of the North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted an intelligence based operation in general area Razmak, North Waziristan District, on reported presence of Khwarij(terrorists) on the night between September 25 and 26.

During conduct of the operation, intense fire exchange took place between own troops and khwarij(terrorists), as a result of which, eight Khwarij(terrorists) were sent to hell.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from killed Khwarij(terrorists), who remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces as well as target killing of innocent civilians.

The sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area as security forces are determined to wipe-out the menace of terrorism from the country.

On the other hand, President Asif Ali Zardari lauded the security forces for carrying out a successful anti-terror operation in the Razmak area of North Waziristan.

The president said the security forces showed exemplary gallantry in eliminating eight terrorists in the operation.

“The operation against terrorism will continue till the elimination of this scourge in toto. The whole nation stands by its security forces in this fight,” President Zardari said and reiterated the resolve to protect the lives and properties of innocent citizens.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paying tribute to the security forces for carrying out a successful anti-terror operation in Razmak area of North Waziristan, expressed the hope that the terrorists would be eliminated from across the country soon.

“God willing, Khawarij (terrorists) will be completely eradicated from the entire country soon,” the prime minister said in a statement who is currently on a five-day visit to the United States to attend the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

He said that the timely action by the security forces led to the killing of eight terrorists in the operation.

Prime Minister Shehbaz said that the protection of lives and properties of the citizens from terrorists was among the government’s priorities.

Lt Gen Muhammad Asim Malik appointed as DG ISI

RAWALPINDI: Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik has been appointed as new Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

According to the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), Lt Gen Malik has replaced Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum as ISI chief and will take charge of his new command on September 30.

Currently, he is serving as the adjutant general at the General Headquarters (GHQ).

The newly appointed Lt Gen Muhammad Asim Malik has served as the commander of Balochistan infantry division and infantry brigade in Waziristan.

Moreover, Lt Gen Malik had also served as the chief instructor at the National Defence University and as an instructor at the Command and Staff College Quetta.

The new ISI DG is a graduate of Fort Leavenworth in the United States and Royal College of Defence Studies in London.

Security forces kill 12 terrorists in Waziristan operations

Officer and two soldiers martyred, eight terrorists killed in KP operations

RAWALPINDI: At least six soldiers were martyred and 12 terrorists killed in two separate operations conducted by the security forces in North and South Waziristan.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), two fierce encounters took place between own troops and the terrorists in North and South Waziristan Districts, resulting in killing of 12 Khwarij(terrorists).

On 19 September, movement of group of seven terrorists, trying to infiltrate Pakistan-Afghanistan border, was detected by security forces in general area Spinwam, North Waziristan District.

The infiltrators were surrounded, effectively engaged and after an intense fire exchange, all seven khwarij(terrorists) were sent to hell. A large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives was also recovered.

Meanwhile, in a second incident in general area Ladha, South Waziristan District, a group of khwarij (terrorists) attacked a security forces’ post. Own troops fought bravely, foiling the attempts of intrusion and killed five Khwarij(terrorists).

However, during intense exchange of fire, six brave sons of soil, having fought gallantly, paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced martyrdom.

CJCSC holds important meetings with Chinese military leaders

RAWALPINDI: General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), conducted important meetings with top Chinese military officials during his official visit.

The attempt to enter the camp was effectively thwarted by the security forces personnel, and resultantly the Khwarij, all four suicide bombers, were sent to hell before they could cause the intended damage.

LEAs conduct over 130 operations on daily basis: DG ISPR

ISLAMABAD: Director General, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies were conducting more than 130 operations on daily basis to combat terrorism across the country.

Addressing the press conference, the DG ISPR highlighted the military’s relentless efforts to maintain peace and security amid terror threats, particularly in Balochistan.

The briefing comes after a series of deadly terror attacks in Balochistan on August 26, which claimed the lives of 50 people, including 14 security personnel. In response to these attacks, security operations have been intensified across the region.

He said that security forces had carried out 32,173 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) so far in 2024, with 4,021 conducted in the past month alone.

During these operations, 90 terrorists, referred to as “khawarij,” were neutralized. He reiterated the resolve of the Pakistan Army, police, and intelligence agencies to continue the fight against terrorism, stating “The war against Fitna al-Khawarij and terrorism will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.”

The DG ISPR also paid tributes to the sacrifices of 193 soldiers who embraced martyrdom in the last eight months, calling them real heroes of the nation. He assured their families that their sacrifices would not be in vain.

Highlighting a recent operation in the Tirah Valley against the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and other militant groups, DG ISPR Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that since August 20, 37 terrorists had been killed, including a top commander, Abuzar, also known as Saddam. Four soldiers were martyred during the operation, he added.

“These successful IBOs are a testament to the bravery and commitment of our security forces to eradicate terrorism,” he added.

Referring to the August 26 attacks in Balochistan, reportedly orchestrated by Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), the DG ISPR attributed the violence to “internal and external enemies” hell bent upon destabilizing the province’s peaceful environment. He pointed out the military’s swift response, during which 21 terrorists were eliminated.

Acknowledging the challenges in Balochistan, he noted that certain elements exploited some sort of ‘deprivation’ among the local population. He stressed the military’s commitment to development and peace in the province despite these’ adversities.

During the press conference, the DG ISPR also addressed the court martial of former spymaster Faiz Hameed.

RAWALPINDI: Three valiant soldiers of Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom while eliminating four terrorists during fire exchanges took place between the Security Forces and the at three different locations in Tirah Valley of Khyber District.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release, due to the effective engagement of the Army troops the four got killed.

However, during the intense fire exchange, three brave sons of soil identified as 27-years old Havildar Inam Gul resident of District Mianwali, 29-years old Sepoy Muhammad Imran resident of District Tank and 22-years old Sepoy Iltaf Khan resident of District Mardan, who having fought gallantly embraced Shahadat.

RAWALPINDI:  A violent mob in garb of so called Baloch Raji Muchi assaulted Security Forces’ personnel employed for security duties in Gwadar district.

Resultantly, 30-years old Sepoy Shabbir Baloch resident of: District Sibi, embraced shahadat.

In addition, the unprovoked assaults by the violent protesters have resulted in injuries to sixteen soldiers including an officer.

While on the other hand, fake and malicious propaganda is being spread on social media using doctored pictures and videos by the propagandists to gain sympathy and support for the unlawful violent march.

Security forces have displayed extreme restraint to avoid unwarranted civilian casualties despite provocations.

He was a close associate of Khawarji Gul Bahadur and was actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area including target killing of Malik Sher Muhammad, grandson of Faqir of Ippi on 6 January 2023 as well as facilitation of suicide bombing attack in North Waziristan on 16 March 2024 which resulted in shahadat of seven brave soldiers.

RAWALPINDI:  Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that the political mafia wants to make Operation Azm-e-Istehkam controversial.

During press conference in Rawalpindi, DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif said that has been an increase in organized propaganda and false news against the armed forces in recent times, so it is necessary to handle these issues.

He said it was not just a military operation as portrayed by some disgruntled elements, rather a comprehensive drive to flush out anti-state individuals and mafias, hell bent upon to disrupt peaceful environment in the country.

The ISPR DG specifically highlighted major aspects of the operation in the wake of of an organized campaign against state institutions, based on fake and baseless news.

Lieutenant General Sharif gave the breakup of counter-terrorism drive during the current year as some 22,409 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) were conducted that resulted in elimination of 398 terrorists. On average 112 IBOs were done on daily basis by the army, police and law enforcement agencies (LEAs) that helped in elimination of 31 high value targets (most wanted terrorists), he added,

During these counter-terrorism activities, 137 officers and soldiers embraced martyrdom in 2024 whereas the armed forces paid tribute to the families of these martyrs.

“Amid growing propaganda and lies, it is imperative to hold regular media briefings to debunk false news,” he added.

He pointed out that a massive, illegal political mafia was trying to sabotage the state’s Azm-i-Istehkam (Resolve for Stability) operation.

Replying to a query regarding the displacement, he said crucial issues were being targeted just for political gains, adding that Azm-i-Istehkam was one such example.

Last month, the federal government approved the operation to counter due to terrorist attacks across the country, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, after the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) ended its ceasefire with the government in November 2022.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), in response to the recent Improvised Explosive Device explosion that claimed the lives of seven brave soldiers including Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas and Subedar Major Muhammad Nazir, the security forces launched an intelligence based operation in Lakki Marwat District to bring the perpetrators of the heinous act to justice.

During conduct of the operation, own troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, as result of which eleven terrorists were successfully neutralized and sent to hell while multiple terrorist hideouts were also busted.

“Sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area as the security forces are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country,” ISPR said.

Pakistan Navy foils major drug smuggling bid in North Arabian Sea

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Aslat seized a large quantity of narcotics in the North Arabian Sea during a regional maritime security patrol.

The seized drugs were worth thousands of dollars in the international market, an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release said.

The successful operation against drug smuggling was the result of effective surveillance at sea by Pakistan Navy, it added.

Naval warships of Pakistan Navy regularly perform duties on Regional Maritime Security Patrol to prevent drug smuggling, piracy and human trafficking at sea, the ISPR said.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif commended the efforts of Pakistan Navy in thwarting narcotics smuggling attempt in the Northern Arabian Sea.

The prime minister appreciated the crew members including offices and Jawans of PNS Aslat for intercepting the vessel used for drug smuggling, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.

The Pakistan Navy had been working round the clock to safeguarding the maritime frontiers; and controlling pirates and human smuggling, he observed.

RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Army on Wednesday conducted the successful training launch of Fatah-II Guided Rocket System with a range of 400 kilometres.

According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the launch was aimed at perfecting the launch drills and procedures.

Equipped with the state-of-the-art navigation system, unique trajectory and manoeuvrable features, Fatah-II is capable of engaging targets with high precision and defeating any missile defence system.

Fatah-II is being inducted in the Pakistan Army’s artillery divisions for stand-off and precision engagement of deep targets.

The rocket system will significantly upgrade the reach and lethality of Pakistan Army’s conventional arsenal.

The flight test was witnessed by Chief of the General Staff Pakistan Army, senior officers from the three services, and dedicated scientists and engineers.

The President, Prime Minister, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Chief of Army Staff and other services chiefs congratulated the participating troops and scientists on the excellent achievement.

RAWALPINDI: The funeral prayers of Shaheed Major Babar Niazi, martyred in an intelligence-based operation against terrorists, were offered in Zhob, Balochistan.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) , senior military and civil officers and representatives of public and civil administration participated in the funeral prayers. The martyr will be buried at his hometown with full military honour.

The ISPR further said the Armed Forces of Pakistan stand by the nation and are determined to thwart terrorist attempts to sabotage the peace and stability of the country.

These sacrifices of our brave sons strengthen our resolve to fight against terrorism and this war will continue till elimination of the scourge from the motherland.

Earlier, a Pakistan Army officer embraced martyrdom while three terrorists were eliminated during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted by the security forces in general area Sambaza, Zhob District of Balochistan.

During the conduct of operation, the Army troops effectively engaged the terrorists location, as a result of which three terrorists were killed, an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release said.

The martyred soldier was identified as Major Babar Khan (age: 33 years, resident of District Mianwali) who embraced martyrdom, having fought gallantly during intense exchange of fire while leading his troops from the front.

RAWALPINDI: The investiture ceremony of Karachi Corps was held on Friday, where Corps Commander, Lieutenant General Babar Iftikhar conferred awards of Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military), Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military), and Tamgha-i-Basalat on Army officers and soldiers as chief guest.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the next of Kin of nine Soldiers received Tamgha-i-Basalat on behalf of Shuahda (martyrs), 14 officers were awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 19 officers were awarded Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) for rendering meritorious services to the nation.

A large number of senior Army officers and families of awardees attended the ceremony.

The Corps Commander also interacted with families of, Shuhada, and paid tributes to their sacrifices.

Navy hands over 8 Iranian fishermen to diplomatic authorities

RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Navy on Thursday handed over eight Iranian fishermen to Iranian diplomatic authorities on humanitarian grounds.

According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Iranian fishermen were rescued by the Pakistan Navy during a successful operation in the open sea.

A ship of the Pakistan Navy responded in time to an emergency call from a fire-stricken boat at sea. The Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Yarmouk rescued all eight fishermen from the Iranian boat that caught fire and played a role in extinguishing the uncontrollable fire.

“The prompt and successful rescue operation is a practical example of the Pakistan Navy’s ability to deal with all kinds of situations at sea,” the ISPR said.
