PakVsNZ: National squad starts training session at Queenstown

Pakistan squad has returned to the cricket field for its first practice session in Queenstown on Wednesday morning after two weeks of isolation.

According to the details, Shaheens made the most of the opportunity and trained for almost three hours under Ejaz Ahmed, Pakistan cricket team’s coach, supervision.

The 53-member squad was in managed isolation, confined to their rooms for the last two weeks. Shaheens were allowed to train initially during isolation, however, after 10 players of the squad tested positive for coronavirus, they were revoked by the NZ health authorities.

Imran Abbas requests nation to pray for Yasmeen Lari

Thousands of people across the country and millions of people across the world have contracted the novel coronavirus. Yasmeen Lari, the first Pakistani female architect is among them.

Pakistani actor Imran Abbas shared the news about Lari battling for her life in the ICU after she tested positive for coronavirus and requested the nation to pray for her health.

Taking to his Instagram account, the Khuda Aur Muhabbat actor wrote,

“Prayers needed. Pakistan’s first female architect and a woman known for helping out tons of people with livelihood, the legendary Yasmeen Lari is in ICU. Today, her husband has also died due to coronavirus contraction,” he wrote.

“My sincerest thoughts go out to her and their family for the loss and I pray that her husband rest in peace. May Allah (SWT) grant her husband with elevated ranks in Jannah and also bestow her with speedy recovery. Ameen,” he continued

“The first woman to study and get a degree in architecture. Yasmeen Lari,” he added.

It should be mentioned here that Lari’s husband, Sohail Lari, a renowned historian and author, lost his battle with coronavirus today.

PakVsNZ: Pakistan cricketers enjoy time together after 2 weeks of isolation

Life of the Pakistan cricket squad has finally come to normal on Tuesday as they were released from the isolation of 14 days in Christchurch, New Zealand. The squad is finally free to resume their cricket activities.

According to the details, since the 53-member squad was in managed isolation, confined to their rooms for the last two weeks. Shaheens were allowed to train initially during isolation, however, after 10 players of the squad tested positive for coronavirus, they were revoked by the NZ health authorities.

“52 members of the squad will be released from the MIQ facilities in Christchurch today. One case will remain in the Christchurch quarantine facility until fully recovered. One person repeatedly tested negative and is being released from the Auckland quarantine facility today, where they had been transferred on arrival as a precaution,” said an official of the New Zealand health ministry.

The team left the quarantine facility soon after the announcement to spend some time in the hotel before flying to Queenstown to play.

Former Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram has emphasized to ensure the mental health of the Pakistani cricketers who are going through difficult isolation and quarantine restrictions due to coronavirus in various countries where the Shaheens have traveled to play cricket.

Former Pakistan cricket team’s captain said on Tuesday while speaking to media that,

“It is imperative to look after players’ mental well-being in this scenario in order to keep them positive and motivated in the game. There’s a serious need to have a regular psychologist with teams when they travel to new environments,” he underscored.
