Prince Harry’s intention to discuss his relationship with Queen leaked

Prince Harry

Prince Harry’s ideas to address concerns about Queen Elizabeth’s monarchy have finally been made public. Omid Scobie, a royal novelist and pundit, recently made this assertion.

He began by detailing how Prince Harry would go with the charges in his memoir, and was cited as stating, “Harry really is going out of his way to make sure that there isn’t material in there [the book] that can be seen as negative towards the Queen or her reign in any way whatsoever, and he really wants to celebrate her life and his relationship with her in that book.”

He added, “I think as much as the press want this to be a burn book and an attack on the institution, this is more just about his story, and of course, his story is so much more than just the few years of his life as the Duke of Sussex.”

Before concluding he added, “I think for people expecting that warts and all moment, it’s not going to happen. That said, it’s still going to be fascinating.”

Queen Elizabeth needed a ‘bargain’ to restore the monarchy’s dwindling fortunes: Former UK Prime Minister

Queen Elizabeth

Former UK Prime Minister David Cameron and former Chancellor George Osborne addressed Queen Elizabeth and the royal family’s purported financial problems in a new book, according to Express UK.

Speaking with royal scholar Robert Hardman for his biography Queen of our Times: The Life of Elizabeth II, the duo revealed that the royal household was ‘running out of money’ at one point and had to accept a ‘generous’ arrangement to keep afloat.

When Cameron and Osborne were elected in 2010, they worked hard to restore the monarchy’s financial status by establishing the ‘Sovereign Grant.’

The former UK PM said of the crown: “They were running out of money to fix things.”

“The Treasury saw an opportunity to do a big, bold reform and I think George Osborne relished it because the historian in him loved the idea of trying to fix this long-standing problem. I thought this was a great challenge for the relationship between No 10 and the Palace: can we get this done?” said Cameron.

“It was generous, but I don’t mind. It was better to have something that was long-term sustainable” Cameron added.

Queen struggled with the divorces of Prince Charles, Prince Andrew, and Princess Anne

Queen struggled with the divorces of Prince Charles, Prince Andrew, and Princess Anne

As the divorces of three of her four children played out publicly throughout the 1990s, Queen Elizabeth remained as stern as ever. But there was a separate tale going on behind the scenes.

Author Robert Hardman delves into the Queen’s private anguish as the marriages of Prince Charles, Prince Andrew, and Princess Anne came to an end in his upcoming biography, Queen of Our Times: The Life of Queen Elizabeth II.

Hardman writes in his book, “Outwardly stoical, as ever, the Queen was finding the divorce talks deeply upsetting. Another former member of the Household recalls that every now and then, there would be a glimpse of her despair.”

Despite her mental turmoil, the Queen never lost her cool during her calamitous year, or “annus horribilis,” in 1992. The year saw a fire demolish a portion of Windsor Castle, as well as the breakdown of Charles, Anne, and Andrew’s marriages, as well as the ongoing scandals involving Princess Diana and Prince Charles.

“I don’t remember a single occasion when I went to see her and she exclaimed, ‘No! What next?’ ” her former press secretary Charles Anson tells Hardman in Queen of Our Times, out April 5. “The issue was sometimes embarrassing, but she got on with it. It is immensely reassuring in those situations to work for someone who isn’t knocked back.”

Prince William kisses the Duchess of Cornwall at Commonwealth service

Prince William

At the Commonwealth Day service on Monday, the Duke of Cambridge was seen sharing a tender moment with his stepmother, the Duchess of Cornwall.

As the royals waited for the procession to begin before taking their seats, William and Camilla were seen kissing each other — a rare display of emotion between the couple – while Prince Charles and William’s wife Kate were also seen in the same embrace.

The four royals, together with Princess Alexandra, were attending the traditional Commonwealth Day service in London. The Queen, as Head of the Commonwealth, is normally present, but she was unable to attend this year, her first absence in nearly a decade.

The monarch’s decision not to attend has been seen as a cautious step and a practical move around her travel arrangements, rather than a new health issue. She is based in Windsor and has recently recovered from coronavirus. She invited Charles, her eldest son and prospective heir, to represent her at the service.

The royal family’s outing on Monday was significant because Commonwealth Day has not been observed in person since 2020. Camilla looked stunning in a purple wool and velvet coat dress by Fiona Clare and a hat by Philip Treacy, while Kate looked stunning in royal blue.

The Royal Family reunites for a Commonwealth Day service without Queen

Prince Charles spotted making plans with William and Kate Middleton

This was Her Majesty’s first absence from the event in nearly a decade, and it would have been her first public attendance since hitting the Platinum Jubilee milestone in February. The Queen missed the service the previous time it happened in 2013, when she was suffering from a bad case of gastroenteritis.
