Kate Middleton shares a sweet moment with Duchess Camilla

On Monday, as the royals reunited for the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared a sweet moment with the Duchess of Cornwall.

It was the first public appearance of William and Kate with Prince Charles and Camilla since the Queen revealed her intention for Camilla to become Queen Consort when her son claims the throne.

As they waited for the service to begin, the Cambridges enthusiastically embraced the elder royal couple, each stooping down to kiss Camilla on the cheek.

Kate gently knelt down to embrace her stepmother-in-law twice, tenderly placing her arm in a touching motion with her left hand.

The royals were in good spirits during the event, with William seen laughing with Camilla and Charles and his daughter-in-law observed conversing animatedly.

Unfortunately, the Queen was not present for the event. It was Her Majesty’s first absence from the event in nearly a decade, and it would have been her first public attendance since hitting the Platinum Jubilee milestone in February.

The Queen missed the service the previous time it happened in 2013, when she was suffering from a bad case of gastroenteritis.
