Ukrainian forces believe that Russian forces are preparing for a parade in the beleaguered city of Mariupol.

The march is planned to take place on May 9; it is a Russian official holiday commemorating the defeat of the Nazis in 1945.

Ukraine’s intelligence service claimed on Telegram that Mariupol would be used as “the hub of festivities,” adding that “the main avenues of the city are [being] urgently cleaned, the debris and the corpses of the dead, as well as unexploded ordnance, are being evacuated.”
