The second round of Pakistan-Afghanistan talks will take place in Istanbul today. A Pakistani delegation, including the National Security Adviser, has already arrived in Türkiye to participate in the discussions.
According to the schedule, the talks will be held in Istanbul later today. If the participation of a senior Afghan Taliban minister is confirmed, Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif may also travel to Istanbul.
Sources said the final decision on who will lead the Pakistani delegation will depend on the level of representation from the Afghan side. The National Security Adviser is confirmed to be part of the team.
During the talks, Pakistan is expected to reiterate its strong stance on curbing cross-border terrorism.
It is worth noting that this second phase of the Istanbul talks is considered highly significant for both countries.
