KARACHI, November 7, 2025: Sindh Police carried out a major operation in Ghotki, killing 12 notorious dacoits, including several with government-announced bounties on their heads.
The operation was led by DIG Sukkur Faisal Abdullah Chachar, along with SSP Ghotki Anwar Khetran and SSP Sukkur Azhar Mughal. Police teams surrounded the area and engaged in a fierce gun battle with the criminals.
According to DIG Chachar, the encounter resulted in the deaths of 12 wanted dacoits, including Shah Nawaz alias Shahu, one of the region’s most feared criminals, who carried a Rs. 5 million bounty. Police recovered the bodies of seven dacoits, while their accomplices took the rest away. Around ten others were injured and fled under the cover of darkness.
Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar praised the police teams for their courage and professionalism, calling the operation a major success in the fight against crime. He said the action has significantly boosted the morale of law enforcement and improved the law and order situation in the area.
The slain dacoits were reportedly members of the notorious Shar gang, which had long terrorized local communities.
Lanjar reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to eliminating criminal networks from Sindh. He said police will continue large-scale operations until lasting peace and security are achieved across the province.
