Javed Sheikh recalls Emran Hashmi’s rude behavior with him on ‘Jannat’ set

Javed Sheikh
  • Javed Sheikh shared an anecdote about his first meeting with Emraan Hashmi.
  • He revealed that his initial interaction with Hashmi was far from warm.
  • They both worked together during the filming of Jannat in Cape Town.

Veteran Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh recently shared an interesting anecdote about his first meeting with Bollywood star Emraan Hashmi during the filming of Jannat in Cape Town. While appearing on the Ramadan transmission, Sheikh revealed that his initial interaction with Hashmi was far from warm.

“I was on the set when the director introduced me to Emraan Hashmi. I said, ‘Assalamu Alaikum.’ He rudely behaved with me, ignored my greeting, and went away,” Sheikh recalled. The actor, who has worked with Bollywood icons like Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Salman Khan, was surprised by Hashmi’s behavior. “They all call me Javed ji,” he noted, implying that respect is a given among industry peers.

When asked to rehearse with Hashmi, Sheikh refused to approach him. “I told the director, ‘I am not going anywhere; he will come to me.’” Eventually, the director convinced Hashmi to come to Sheikh for the rehearsal.

Sheikh emphasized his belief in mutual respect, stating, “If you will respect, you will get it from me.” He added that he does not seek revenge harshly but in a “soft and stylistic” manner.

Despite the initial coldness, Hashmi later approached Sheikh personally after two weeks of silence, eventually striking up a conversation and resolving the tension between them.

Tamil star Vijay Thalapathy faces complaint after actor hosts iftar event in Chennai

Vijay Thalapathy
  • Vijay Thalapathy recently hosted an Iftar gathering in Chennai.
  • Tamil Nadu Sunnat Jamath has filed a complaint against the actor.
  • They alleged that the event was disrespectful to the Muslim community.

Tamil cinema icon Vijay Thalapathy recently hosted an Iftar gathering in Chennai, but the event has now sparked controversy. According to an Indian media report, the Tamil Nadu Sunnat Jamath has filed a complaint against the actor at the Chennai Police Commissioner’s office, alleging that the event was disrespectful to the Muslim community.

The organization’s treasurer, Syed Kous, addressed the media regarding the complaint and expressed dissatisfaction over the event’s proceedings. “Muslims were insulted at the Iftar program organised by Vijay. We believe the participation of drunkards and rowdies who had nothing to do with fasting or Iftar has insulted Muslims,” he reportedly stated.

Kous further alleged that the event was conducted in an inappropriate manner and criticized Vijay for not issuing an apology. He claimed that the arrangements were inadequate and accused Vijay’s security personnel of mistreating attendees. “Legal action should be taken against Vijay to ensure this does not happen again. We did not file a complaint for publicity,” he added.

The Iftar gathering took place on Friday at the Royapettah YMCA grounds. Vijay, dressed in a skull cap, actively participated in prayers before breaking his fast and sharing a meal with attendees. Numerous photos and videos from the event quickly circulated on social media.

On the professional front, Vijay was last seen in Venkat Prabhu’s 2024 film The GOAT and is currently filming Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth. The movie, which stars Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, and Bobby Deol, is set to be his final film before he transitions into politics.

Vijay has confirmed that he will not sign any new projects as he prepares to contest the 2026 elections under his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), which he launched last year.

Is ‘Sikandar’ starring Salman Khan copy of any South Indian film? Director clears the air

Sikandar
  • Salman Khan’s upcoming film, Sikandar, is not a remake of any movie.
  • The director confirmed that it is an entirely original story.
  • Social media users had called it a remake of action-thriller Sarkar.

Bollywood megastar Salman Khan’s much-awaited Eid release, Sikandar, is not a remake or an adaptation of any film but an entirely original story, as confirmed by its director, AR Murugadoss.

Following the release of Sikandar’s official teaser last month, social media has been abuzz with comparisons. Some users have drawn parallels between the high-octane action film and Prashanth Neel’s Salaar, starring South Indian superstar Prabhas, while others speculated that it might be a remake of Thalapathy Vijay’s action-thriller Sarkar.

However, putting all speculation to rest, AR Murugadoss issued a statement clarifying that Sikandar is an entirely fresh concept. “This is a completely original story,” he affirmed. “Every scene and every frame of Sikandar has been designed and executed with authenticity, offering a fresh narrative and experience.”

The director further emphasized, “It’s not a remake or adaptation of any existing film.” He also highlighted the film’s distinctive musical composition, stating, “An essential part of the film’s originality is its stunning background score, crafted by the immensely talented Santosh Narayanan. His music perfectly complements the film’s energetic tone and vibrant visuals, adding an emotional depth that enhances every scene.”

Apart from Salman Khan in the lead role, Sikandar boasts an ensemble cast, including South Indian sensation Rashmika Mandanna as his love interest, along with Kajal Aggarwal, Anjini Dhawan, Prateik Babbar, Sharman Joshi, and veteran actor Sathyaraj. The action-packed entertainer is produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.

Scheduled to release in theatres this month, Sikandar is set to coincide with Eid-ul-Fitr 2025, adding to the festive celebrations for Salman Khan’s fans worldwide.

Khushi Kapoor, Ibrahim Ali Khan’s starrer ‘Naadaaniyan’ faces harsh public criticism

Naadaaniyan
  • Khushi Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan’s Naadaaniyan fell short of expectations.
  • Its reception has been overwhelmingly negative.
  • The film marks the Bollywood debut of Ibrahim Ali Khan.

Karan Johar’s latest production, Naadaaniyan, under Dharma Productions, recently made its debut, and to say it fell short of expectations would be an understatement. Despite the anticipation surrounding the film, its reception has been overwhelmingly negative, with critics and audiences alike expressing disappointment.

The film marks the Bollywood debut of Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of superstar Saif Ali Khan, and Khushi Kapoor, daughter of the late legend Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor. Khushi had already stepped into the industry with her role in Netflix’s The Archies, which failed to leave an impact, and unfortunately, her second outing hasn’t fared any better.

Supporting the newcomers is a cast of seasoned actors, including Suniel Shetty, Dia Mirza, Jugal Hansraj, and Mahima Choudhry. Many viewers felt that these veterans carried the film, compensating for the underwhelming performances of the debutants.

Despite Karan Johar’s backing, Naadaaniyan, which premiered on March 7, 2025, failed to impress both critics and audiences. While some viewers appreciated its attempt to explore fresh themes and relationships, the general consensus pointed towards significant shortcomings, particularly in pacing, character development, and, most notably, the performances of the lead actors.

Social media, particularly X (formerly Twitter), was relentless in its critique. Many users expressed their frustration, with one particularly harsh comment stating, “The next person who hurts me, I’m going to tie them to a chair and make them watch Naadaaniyan.”

The film’s poor dubbing, especially Ibrahim Ali Khan’s voice work, was another major point of contention, leading to jokes about the film being AI-generated or resembling an Instagram reel rather than a full-fledged Bollywood movie.

Beyond the film’s flaws, Naadaaniyan has reignited the ever-present nepotism debate in Bollywood. While many star kids have proved their mettle over the years—such as Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, and Varun Dhawan—the performances in the film suggest that sheer privilege is not enough to guarantee success.

One social media user summed it up succinctly, stating, “These projects are glorified launch pads for PR-driven star kids—script and content be damned.” This sentiment resonated with many, as audiences continue to demand fresh talent and compelling storytelling rather than recycled formulas that once worked in the past.

Interestingly, despite the negative reviews, the film has been trending on Netflix. However, much of its viewership appears to stem from hate-watching—people tuning in purely out of curiosity or to see if it’s really as bad as critics claim. Some viewers even went as far as to say that the film made Loveyapa—a previously panned film—seem good in comparison.

The film’s reliance on familiar tropes also didn’t sit well with audiences. The rich-college-student-meets-scholarship-kid storyline, reminiscent of Student of the Year (2012), feels outdated in 2025. One particularly scathing remark encapsulated the film’s shortcomings: “At the end of the day, Naadaaniyan is one of those films you’ll want to forget as soon as possible, but don’t worry—it’ll stay with you forever… much like a bad meme.”

Wendy Williams hospitalized after tossing note for help from assisted living facility

Wendy Williams
  • Wendy Williams was taken from her assisted living facility by ambulance.
  • She threw a handwritten note out of her window, pleading for help.
  • Williams was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia.

Wendy Williams was reportedly taken from her New York assisted living facility by ambulance after throwing a handwritten note out of her window, pleading for help. The New York Post revealed that Williams’ note simply read, “Help! Wendy!!”

Authorities received a call for a wellness check around 11:15 a.m., shortly after the former talk show host tossed the note from her fifth-story room. Law enforcement sources reported that she was later seen waving her arms while talking on the phone. Eventually, Williams exited the facility silently, accompanied by police officers who helped her into an ambulance.

Williams, who has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia, has been staying in the memory ward of the facility while contesting her court-ordered guardianship. However, a psychiatrist at the hospital where she was taken stated that her mental capacity remains intact. According to TMZ, she underwent a psychological “capacity test” at Lennox Hill Hospital, scoring a “10 out of 10.”

Williams has openly challenged her guardianship, previously telling TMZ in a phone interview, “I am being held in a prison” and “not allowed” to leave freely. The test results are expected to be reviewed in court.

Kim Soo Hyun denies dating allegations with Kim Sae Ron, warns legal action

Kim Sae Ron
  • Kim Soo Hyun’s agency denied dating allegations with Kim Sae Ron.
  • He was accused of being in a relationship with Kim Sae Ron.
  • The rumors resurfaced after her tragic passing last month.

Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, has strongly denied allegations that the Queen of Tears actor was in a long-term relationship with the late actress Kim Sae Ron.

The rumors, resurfacing after her tragic passing last month, were spread by the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute, which claimed their alleged relationship began when Sae Ron was 15.

In a video released on March 10, the YouTube channel stated it had verified the claims with Kim Sae Ron’s parents and included a phone interview with a family member. Kim Soo Hyun’s agency quickly dismissed the allegations and warned of legal action.

In response, Garosero mocked the lawsuit threat, writing, “Even BTS once said they would take legal action against us—how did that turn out? Everyone enlisted in the army.”

Kim Sae Ron’s father, however, announced plans to sue the YouTuber for contributing to his daughter’s distress during her DUI controversy.

Garosero further accused reporter Lee Jin Ho of harassment, urging his removal from YouTube. The controversy continues as Kim Soo Hyun’s agency prepares to take legal steps to protect the actor’s reputation.
