Despite being the son of legendary actor Dharmendra, Sunny Deol revealed facing significant hurdles in his career due to Bollywood’s camp culture.

In a recent interview with SCREEN, Sunny candidly shared, “The reality of life is that there are camps everywhere. Camps usually go with the people who are part of them and who will do chamchagiri (sycophancy) for one another.

He added, “Somehow, people who are very upfront… We are Jats, you know. Toh kuch bhi jo karte hain toh hum log darte nahin, hum karte hain. Aur hum sharmaate nahin kisi cheez se, sachche hain (Whatever we do, we are not afraid, we do it. And we are not ashamed of anything, we are honest). So people don’t like that.”

Sunny also spoke about his decision to turn producer after facing rejection from big production houses. “In the latter half of my dad’s career, in the ’80s and ’90s, many big houses didn’t work with him. I didn’t have any house working with me either.

He continued, “So, I became a producer to bring in films… Lekin jab tak koi nahi aata, toh aap kuchh nahi kar sakte hai, aapko ladte hi rehna pata hai (But until someone comes, you can’t do anything, you have to keep fighting).”

Sunny Deol is set to star in Border 2, with JP Dutta serving as producer. The film also features Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. Additionally, Sunny will headline the action film Jaat.

Aamir Khan’s 2022 release Laal Singh Chaddha struggled at the box office, leaving the actor deeply affected. Kareena Kapoor, who played the female lead, recently shared Aamir’s emotional response in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India.

“Laal Singh was such a beautiful, honest film,” Kareena said. “You have such stalwarts like Aamir who believed in that film. Of course, he was shattered. He met me somewhere and said, ‘Picture nahi chali humari na, tu baat toh karegi na mujhse (Our movie didn’t work. You will still talk to me, right)?’”

Kareena revealed her pride in the project despite its underperformance. “I am most proud that you gave me Rupa! I feel what Rupa has done for me… it has done more for me than what a Singham can do,” she remarked.

She emphasized that the film wasn’t created for commercial success, explaining, “We did not make that film thinking it would make ₹500 crore. It was just made with all heart.”

Laal Singh Chaddha, a Hindi adaptation of Forrest Gump, received mixed reactions. Aamir Khan is now gearing up for his next projects, Sitaare Zameen Par and Lahore, 1947. Kareena, meanwhile, recently reprised her role in Rohit Shetty’s blockbuster Singham Again.

Ryan Reynolds reveals future of ‘Deadpool’ franchise

Ryan Reynolds
  • Ryan Reynolds reflected on Deadpool’s future.
  • He views Deadpool as a supporting, not central, character.
  • He hinted at Deadpool’s return in other characters’ films.

Ryan Reynolds, synonymous with the wisecracking superhero Deadpool, has opened up about the uncertain future of the character.

Speaking on Variety’s Actors on Actors series, Reynolds reflected on his role in Deadpool & Wolverine, released earlier this year, and the challenges of balancing his professional and personal life.

The actor admitted that returning to Deadpool six years after Deadpool 2 (2018) was a daunting experience. “It (Deadpool & Wolverine) came six years after the last one. Part of the reason is that it swallows my whole life,” Reynolds shared. “I have four kids, and I don’t ever want to be absentee. I kind of die inside when I miss their competitions or moments.”

Reynolds also revealed that he views Deadpool as more of a secondary character than a central one. “You can’t centre him unless you take everything away from him. I don’t think I can do that again,” he explained.

Looking ahead, he suggested that Deadpool’s future appearances might be in other characters’ movies, adding, “Channing Tatum is so excited to play Gambit, and I’d be happy to play the fifth banana in his movie.”

The actor also expressed admiration for Wesley Snipes’ return as Blade, wishing for a similar reception for Deadpool in future projects.

  • The kidnappers demanded a ransom of INR 1 crore.

Actor Mushtaq Khan, known for roles in Welcome and Stree 2, recently endured a traumatic kidnapping incident near the Delhi-Meerut highway.

According to his business partner, Shivam, Khan was lured with an invitation to an event, complete with flight tickets and advance payment. Upon arriving at Delhi airport, Khan was taken by car to an area near Bijnor, where he was held captive and tortured for 12 hours.

“The kidnappers demanded a ransom INR 1 crore and extorted over INR 2 lakh from Mushtaq sir and his son’s account,” Shivam revealed. Early the next morning, Khan heard the call to prayer (Azaan), realized a mosque was nearby, and seized the opportunity to escape. He sought help from locals and the police, eventually returning home.

Shivam shared that Khan and his family were deeply shaken but determined to seek justice. “We filed an FIR in Bijnor, providing evidence like flight tickets, bank details, and CCTV footage. Mushtaq sir even recognizes the house where he was kept,” Shivam said.

The case echoes a similar ordeal faced by comedian Sunil Pal, who was also kidnapped en route to a private event and released after paying ₹8 lakh. Shivam called for increased awareness and protection, emphasizing, “It’s shocking that two celebrities faced such incidents. Measures must be taken to ensure safety.”
