Crypto entrepreneur Justin Sun eats famous $6.2 million-worth banana art piece

Justin Sun
  • Justin Sun fulfilled his promise to eat $6.2 million worth of banana.
  • The banana artwork is titled Comedian and created by Maurizio Cattelan.
  • The artwork featured a banana duct-taped to a wall.

Crypto entrepreneur Justin Sun made headlines on Friday by fulfilling his promise to eat a banana from the $6.2 million artwork titled Comedian, created by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan.

The artwork features a banana duct-taped to a wall and was sold at a Sotheby’s auction in New York, where Sun was one of seven bidders.

At a press conference in Hong Kong, Sun took a bite of the banana in front of journalists and influencers, declaring, “It’s much better than other bananas. It’s really quite good.”

He described the piece as “iconic” and drew parallels between conceptual art and cryptocurrency, stating, “Eating it at a press event can also become a part of the artwork’s narrative.”Sun expressed initial disbelief upon winning the bid, saying he felt “this could become something big.”

He also announced plans to buy 100,000 bananas from the vendor who sold him the original fruit, aiming to distribute them for free. However, vendor Shah Alam raised concerns about the practicality of such an order, noting the slim profit margins in banana sales.

Sun’s investment in the artwork and his recent $30 million stake in World Liberty Financial, a crypto initiative linked to Donald Trump, have further solidified his presence in both the art and cryptocurrency worlds.

Georgian girl finds her biological father was her Facebook friend after years of searching

Georgian girl
  • Georgian girl Tamuna Museridze discovered an unexpected truth.
  • Her biological father, whom she was finding, had been her Facebook friend.
  • Tamuna found a woman who claimed to know her birth mother.

In a remarkable twist of fate, Georgian journalist Tamuna Museridze discovered that her biological father had been her Facebook friend for three years while searching for her birth parents.

Tamuna’s journey began in 2016 after the death of the woman who raised her, when she found a birth certificate with her name but an incorrect birth date, leading her to suspect she was adopted.

In 2021, she created a Facebook group called Vedzeb, meaning “I’m searching,” to find her biological family. Her investigation uncovered a significant baby trafficking scandal in Georgia, where thousands of families were misled into believing their newborns had died at birth.

After connecting with a woman who claimed to know her birth mother, Tamuna took a DNA test that confirmed their relationship as cousins. However, when she reached out to her birth mother, the response was shocking: “She began to yell and scream, insisting she had never given birth to a child.”Eventually, after further inquiries, Tamuna learned her father’s name was Gurgen Korava.

When Tamuna searched for Gurgen on Facebook, she was astonished to find he had been following her story all along. “He had been on my friend list for three years,” she said. This unexpected reunion led to an emotional meeting where Gurgen immediately recognized Tamuna as his daughter.
