Sunidhi Chauhan
  • Sunidhi Chauhan revitalized Nazia Hassan’s Boom Boom track.
  • This fresh rendition features Sunidhi’s powerful vocals.
  • Fans flooded social media with requests for a full version.

The late pop queen Nazia Hassan’s iconic track Boom Boom has been revitalized by Indian singer Sunidhi Chauhan in a new car commercial, showcasing the enduring legacy of Hassan’s music.

This fresh rendition features Sunidhi’s powerful vocals, marking a departure from Nazia’s classic, softer style. As Sunidhi steps into the driver’s seat, her version injects energy into the beloved ’80s disco hit.

Fans have responded enthusiastically, flooding social media with requests for a full version of Sunidhi’s cover. Comments like “Sunidhi’s voice!” and “Amazing choice of a ’90s hot pop song” reflect the excitement surrounding the new take. One fan even asked, “Where to get this song in her voice?” echoing the sentiment of many who want to hear more.

However, not all attempts to cover Nazia’s songs have met with similar acclaim. Actress Mehwish Hayat faced backlash after her tribute performance of Boom Boom at a disco party in Dubai received harsh criticism from fans of the late singer.

Comments ranged from “She could have paid better tribute by NOT singing at all” to a request for a “2-minute silence” after her performance.Despite these mixed reactions, fans can take comfort in knowing that no cover version is likely to surpass the disco queen’s evergreen original.

Vijay Varma, known for his portrayal of villains, recently shared how these negative roles have impacted his real-life interactions, particularly with women. During the launch of SCREEN in Mumbai, he recounted an experience where singer Sunidhi Chauhan expressed fear after watching him in the film Pink.

I’m very scared of you.’ I was like, ‘Oh my god, what just happened?'” Despite being surprised by her reaction, he received praise from the film’s director for his performance.

To shift public perception, Varma is now focusing on more positive and diverse roles, including that of Captain Devi Sharan in the upcoming film IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. He will also appear in Ul Jalool Ishq alongside Naseeruddin Shah and is currently filming Matka King with Kritika Kamra.
