Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to visit Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from December 3-4, 2024, to participate in the “One Water Summit.” The event, organized jointly by Saudi Arabia, France, Kazakhstan, and the World Bank, aims to foster global cooperation and develop a unified approach to water resource management through high-level political commitments, as stated by the Foreign Office.

During the Summit, the prime minister will deliver a keynote address at a roundtable discussion focusing on the restoration, preservation, and adaptation of freshwater resources and wetlands. He will also share Pakistan’s initiatives in water conservation, climate resilience, water quality improvement, livelihood creation, and biodiversity conservation.

PM Shehbaz is expected to emphasize the need for global collaboration to address challenges such as climate-induced floods, extreme weather events, and heat stress affecting water resources and ecosystems.

On the sidelines of the Summit, the prime minister will hold bilateral meetings and engage in discussions with other leaders.
