ACP to organise 16th Aalmi Urdu Conference from Nov 30

KARACHI: 16th Aalmi Urdu Conference by Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi will be held from November 30 to December 3 at Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi.

This was announced by the President of Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi Muhammad Ahmad Shah in a press conference held regarding the 16 Almi Urdu Conference. Muhammad Ahmed Shah, eminent poet Iftikhar Arif, Senior Journalist Ghazi Salahuddin, Author Noor ul Huda Shah, Qudsia Akbar and Secretary Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi Aijaz Farooqi briefed the media.

President of Art Council Mohammad Ahmed Shah said that today is a very big event for us. 4 days 16th Aalmi Conference will start on 30th November at 4:00 pm. Chief Minister of Sindh Justice (Retd) Maqbool Baqir will inaugurate the festival. Gulzar and Javed Siddiqui will be participate via Zoom from India.

Shah further highlighted that the Aalmi Urdu conference is the culture after that numerous festivals were started. The renowned authors of the various languages were happy at the same stage. Previous year we thought that we must hold the sessions in Sindhi, Phusto, Balochi, Saraeiki, Punjabi and other languages.

Arts Council will launch the book of renowned author of India Javed Siddiqui and he is also the scriptwriter of the “Dil Waly Dhulania Ly Jain Gy”. ACP also launch Indian Journalist Saeed Naqvi’s book “Muslman La Pta Hogay”.

While speaking to the Media Noor ul Huda Shah said Arts Council Karachi organized festivals at Lahore, Kashmir and Sukkur. The meaning of the Ahmed Shah and Arts Council was changed after these experimental events. We observed huge mass at these festivals as compared to the political parties’ sessions. Literature is the only source to spread awareness. Ahmed Shah provides the platform for freedom of opinion.

Student commits suicide after failing in MDCAT exam

PESHAWAR: Mubasher Ali, a student of Islamia College Peshawar in Peshawar, allegedly committed suicide after failing the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT).

According to Islamia College Peshawar Provost, student Mubasher Ali allegedly committed suicide in the hostel. The student committed suicide by consuming drugs in the hostel. He said that the student was a first-semester student of the Zoology Department.

He said that the friend found the student in a critical condition in the room, after which he was shifted to the hospital for medical assistance, but he could not survive and died.

According to the police, the father of the student has recorded his statement and said that the son committed suicide after failing in MDCAT, having given the test twice before.

Police said that the student who committed suicide in the hostel of Islamia College Peshawar belonged to Parachinar.

KARACHI: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Sindh has arrested the commander of the Lyari gang war and the arrested suspect is allegedly involved in encounters with police and Rangers.

The CTD Investigation Department in Karachi arrested the commander of the Lyari gang war while taking action.

The in-charge CTD said that the arrested accused Mir Muhammad Bakhsh Dashti is commander of the Waseem Jozi group. The accused has been arrested from Shaitan Chowk Old Golimar.

The in-charge of CTD said that the arrested accused is involved in encounters with the police and rangers, while he is also involved in serious crimes including murder, terrorism, and extortion.

The accused used to collect extortion from businessmen and hotel owners in Pak Colony while he was also involved in running a drug den.

CTD officials said that after recovering the weapon from the arrested accused the investigation is underway.

ISLAMABAD: Senator Saifullah Abro has been removed from his position as the Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Power following a motion of no confidence.

The motion, submitted under Senate Rules, garnered unanimous support, leading to Senator Abro’s removal from the prestigious role.

The no-confidence motion against Senator Saifullah Abro was moved by Senators Bahramand Khan Tangi, Manzoor Kakar, Sana Jamali, Hafiz Abdul Karim, and Dilawar Khan.

The meeting, convened at the Parliament House and chaired by Additional Secretary Hafeezullah Sheikh, witnessed the unanimous election of Senator Azam Nazir Tarar as the new Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Power.

Senator Tarar has been entrusted with the responsibility to lead the committee towards a path of progress and efficiency.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI) Chairman will not be a candidate for the chairmanship in the intra-party elections.

According to the sources, Chairman PTI conveyed a message to the core committee of the party from jail that he will not be a candidate for the chairman in the intra-party elections.

Sources say that due to the sentence in the Toshakhana case, there will be a new candidate as the chairman in the intra-party election and another member will be elected as the chairman in the intra-party election.

Sources said that there will be elections for PTI chairman and vice chairman and organizational positions. The chairman will approve the organizational matters and decisions of the PTI party himself.

Party sources said that Imran Khan will take part in the intra-party elections as the chairman after his sentence is over, while for now the name of the new chairman will be decided by Imran Khan himself.

Imran Khan’s lawyer and senior vice president of the party Sher Afzl Marwat confirmed that Chairman PTI will not participate in the intra-party elections and told that Chairman PTI will not participate in the intra-party elections.

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has formed a 35-member Central Parliamentary Board for the upcoming elections in 2024.

Leader of Muslim League (N) Nawaz Sharif approved the Central Parliamentary Board and Chairman Central Election Cell Ishaq Dar issued a notification on the approval of Nawaz Sharif.

The members include Khawaja Asif, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Ahsan Iqbal, Hamza Shahbaz, Ameer Muqam, Rana Sanaullah, Javed Latif, Pervaiz Rasheed, Muhammad Safdar and Bashir Memon.

The Central Parliamentary Board of the PML-N will decide to award party tickets to the candidates in the elections.

On the other hand, the Divisional Co-ordination Committee of Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has started interviews for party tickets.

The coordination committee of the Rawalpindi Division includes Pervez Rasheed, Malik Abrar, Tahira Aurangzeb, and Atta Tarar, which has started interviewing the candidates for the election.

The coordination committee will complete the interviews of the candidates by November 29 for ticket distribution

The interviews of PML-N candidates for 2 national and 5 provincial seats of Attock have been completed, while the divisional coordinator of the committee, Pervez Rasheed, will conduct the interviews of the candidates today.
