Moto G Edge, and Razr 2022 will get Android 13

Moto G Edge and Razr 2022 will get an Android 13 update. A Motorola spokesperson has now provided a new list of 20 handsets that may receive the upgrade in the near future. The business intends to start rolling out select handsets in early 2023. Motorola has lagged behind its competition in terms of Android 13 distribution. Companies such as Samsung, Vivo, and OnePlus have already begun to release stable upgrades for their smartphones.

According to a Motorola representative on the official forum, the company has enlarged its list of smartphones set to receive Android 13. Along with other Moto G and Moto Edge series smartphones, it includes the foldable Moto Razr 2022. Motorola anticipates that all of the above handsets will begin receiving updates in early 2023.

The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, Motorola Edge 30 Pro, Motorola Edge+ (2022), Motorola Edge 30 Fusion, Motorola Edge 30 Neo, Motorola Edge 30, Motorola Edge 2022, Motorola Edge 20 Pro, Motorola Edge 20, Motorola Edge (2021), and Motorola Edge 20 Lite are also on the list.

Moto G Stylus 5G (2022), Moto G 5G, Moto G82 5G, Moto G72, Moto G62 5G, Moto G52, Moto G42, and Moto G32 are the eight Moto G series smartphones set to receive the Android 13 upgrade. All of the handsets mentioned will receive the updates “after appropriate testing and clearances.”

In other developments, Motorola is preparing to unveil the Moto X40 flagship smartphone in China on Thursday. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC powers it. The manufacturer has revealed that it contains a 4,600mAh battery with 125W fast charging capabilities. At the launch event, Motorola also plans to reveal the MyUI 5.0 custom Android skin.

Instagram presents numerous new features designed to help users connect with their friends and followers on the photo and video-sharing site Notes, frank stories, group profiles, collaborative collections, and other additional features have been added to the Meta-owned service. The notes feature will allow users to update their friends using text and emojis, and replies to notes will land in the user’s inbox as direct messages (DMs).

On Tuesday, the business unveiled the new features in a blog post. The first feature, notes, would allow users to create a short post of up to 60 characters, including text and emoji. Users can share notes with followers they follow back or others from their current “Close Friends” list by going to the top of their inbox. Once completed, it will appear at the top of their friends’ inboxes for 24 hours, much like an Instagram story. Users can view the responses to their notes in their direct messages.

According to Instagram, the notes feature will provide people with a more casual and spontaneous method to express themselves and interact with their friends and followers. The new “add your nomination” function, which you can access by tapping the “pass it on” button, also lets users nominate others to participate in “Add Yours” on stories.

Instagram presents candid stories:

Meanwhile, Instagram’s candid tales feature will allow users to take candid photo from the stories camera and share it with their friends and followers in real time. Only those who share their own candid story will be able to see it. Meta is also testing a similar function for Facebook, which looks to be inspired by the BeReal programme, which is gaining popularity globally.

The Meta-owned service has now included a group profiles function, which allows users to create and join a profile to exchange posts and stories with their friends in a dedicated, shared group. It will only be shared with members of the group. Furthermore, the app is testing a collaborative collections feature – a new way to interact with friends based on the same interests.

Users will be able to store posts in the group or private DMs in a collaborative collection. They must begin or contribute to a collaborative collection by saving a post directly from their feed. According to the company, they can even send a post to a friend via DM and then save it.

Oppo introduced three new items on Wednesday at its annual technological showcase, Oppo Inno Day 2022. The Oppo Air Glass 2 augmented reality (AR) glasses, the OHealth H1 family health monitor, and the MariSilicon Y SoC are among the products. However, no official release date for the devices has been disclosed by the Chinese maker. Oppo’s first product under the OHealth brand, which focuses on smart healthcare, is the health monitoring device.

Oppo Air Glass 2 weighs about 38 grammes and has a resin SRG-diffractive waveguide lens that allows for vision correction and a variety of other customizations. According to Oppo, the glasses can make phone calls, translate in real-time, and give location-based navigation. According to the business, the Air Glass 2 also has voice-to-text capabilities to assist hearing-impaired users.

Meanwhile, the OHealth H1 health monitoring device combines six health data monitoring tasks into a single device. The device, according to Oppo, can assess blood oxygen levels, generate an electrocardiogram (ECG), and record heart and lung auscultation.

The OHealth H1 can also measure your heart rate and body temperature, as well as track your sleep. The device weighs 95 grammes and is small in size.

The MariSilicon Y Bluetooth audio SoC, the successor to the MariSilicon X, was Oppo’s third product at the Inno Day event. According to the business, the MariSilicon Y is one of the first SoCs that leverage N6RF process technology.

The SoC has a self-developed Pro Bluetooth Pack, which Oppo says enhances Bluetooth bandwidth by 50% over other Bluetooth SoCs on the market. According to the business, it has URLC codec technology and a specialised NPU capable of sending 24-bit/192kHz lossless audio over Bluetooth.

According to Oppo, the audio chip, designed for wireless Bluetooth earbuds and headphones, is capable of offering audio quality comparable to a cable connection and would boost consumers’ spatial audio experience in particular.
