Queen dazzles her senior aide with Scottish dancing moves

Queen Elizabeth

Queen Elizabeth II, who is admired and recognised for her vibrant personality, taught an attendant Scottish dance during a sailing trip.

According to Express UK, citing a new book, the longest reigning monarch swept her top official onto the dance floor of the Royal Yacht Britannia and showed her some top moves.

The 95-year-old monarch, who enjoys Scottish dance, learned that her duty private secretary, Mary Francis, had never attempted it.

In a new book, Francis claims that the Band of the Royal Marines played a mix of Scottish reels, and the Queen taught her attendant how to’strathspey’ and’skip-change.’

Francis said: “There was one lovely evening when it emerged that I had never done Scottish country dancing.”

Francis added among “the very happy atmosphere” the Queen would be holding forth with amusing stories. It was the most relaxed I have ever seen the Queen – and the only time I’ve seen her wear casual trousers.”

Royal novelist Robert Hardman details the time Her Majesty gave the Strictly Come Dancing treatment in Queen of Our Times – The Life of Elizabeth II.

The Queen recently praised her grandson Prince William and Kate Middleton’s dance talents after a video of the royal couple dancing with the Garifuna community in Belize went popular on social media.

Prince Harry refused to attend Prince Philip’s memorial service

Prince Harry

Royal analysts believe Prince Harry is making a big message by refusing to attend Prince Philip’s burial service.

Katie Schofield, a royal pundit and expert, published this statement, calling Prince Harry’s security bid a sham for his “grander objectives.”

During an interview with Express UK, she discussed the problem and admitted to it. “So that is an event, the memorial, where he would have that security that he’s asking for, so it feels like this is just him trying to make a statement.”

“We know that when he came back for the funeral that he was given the security that he says he needs constantly — he’s given that security when it’s a state event when there is a heightened event that the entire family is going to be involved in.”

“It doesn’t feel like he’s sincerely concerned, it feels like this is just him trying to make a statement and saying if you don’t give me my way, I’m going to do this.”

Similarly, biographer Angela Levin appeared to be as sceptical of the move, telling The Sun, “He has snubbed the Duke of Edinburgh but really he is snubbing the Queen.”

“He has got this all wrong. If he comes over for a royal event he gets police protection. What they won’t do is, if he goes out with his friends he gets security.”
