What is the best time of day to wash your face according to science?

wash your face

Whether you wear makeup or not: it’s important to wash your face every evening (as well as every morning). That way, you make sure your skin stays healthy but it also means your skin won’t age as quickly. That’s why we always dutifully cleanse our faces right before we go to sleep. Apparently, though, that’s already a bit too late.

The best time to wash your face is not right before bed. You probably also wash your face later than you should.

Natural rhythm

We should actually be cleaning our faces much earlier than right before we go to bed. So, what time is the right time? It depends on the season. That sounds a little weird, but it’s actually quite logical: you should wash your face when the sun goes down. That’s because your skin cells, just like your body, work according to the circadian rhythm: an internal clock. As soon as the sun goes down, the repair mechanisms in your skin start working. From that moment on your skin creates new skin cells.

Beneficial

By cleansing your face when the sun is going down, you maintain the balance of the circadian rhythm. Researchers of the Center for Genomic Regulation explained that this can be very beneficial for your skin. It makes sure your skin is better protected against damage from the outside and it also slows down the aging process of your skin.

Night cream

Your night cream will work much better as well when you cleanse your face earlier in the evening. Because your skin gets more time in between the washing and the night cream, it won’t have to spend all night recovering from daytime pollution and UV rays. That way, your night cream will get a chance to do its thing.

Motorola to release three new flagship phones this month

Motorola

Motorola is expected to debut three new phones at the end of this month, according to rumors. The Motorola Edge 20, Motorola Edge 20 Pro, and Motorola Edge 20 Lite are the names of the devices.

Motorola Edge 20 Pro

The Motorola Edge 20 Pro is believed to be equipped with a Snapdragon 870 engine, a 6.67-inch FHD+ 120Hz display, and a 108MP triple camera system. The device will be available in Asia, Europe, Australia, and Latin America, and it will include an in-display fingerprint scanner as well as a 4,500mAh battery.

Motorola Edge 20

The global version of Edge 20 will have a 6.67-inch FHD+ 120Hz display and a Snapdragon 778G processor with 5G support. The camera arrangement will be similar to the Pro model’s, but the battery will be smaller at 4,000mAh.

The Edge 20 in North America will have a slightly larger 6.68-inch FHD+ 120Hz display. It will likewise be powered by the Snapdragon 778G processor, but the camera system will be slightly inferior. The main sensor will be a 108MP unit once again, while the wide-angle and macro cameras will have fewer megapixels than the global version.

Lastly, the battery will be a larger 5,000mAh capacity, and the phone will be released in the United States under Verizon’s moniker.

Motorola Edge 20 Lite

Last but not least, there’s the Motorola Edge 20 Lite, which is a less expensive variant of the Edge 20. The screen’s size is unknown, however, we do know that it will be an FHD+ 90Hz panel. The MediaTek Dimensity 720 CPU powers the Edge 20 Lite, which has the same cameras and battery as the Edge 20 in North America. It will be available worldwide, but not in the United States.

In terms of design, it’s safe to assume that all of the phones will be similar, with a hole-punch selfie camera in the center.

Germany eases travel restrictions for the UK, India, and other countries

Germany is set to relax travel restrictions for the United Kingdom, India, and other countries

The German government is relaxing coronavirus travel restrictions for tourists from the United Kingdom and four other countries. Depending on your vaccination status, this means a shorter or no quarantine period.

Travelers from the United Kingdom to Germany will face fewer quarantine restrictions as a result of revised recommendations published on Monday by the German federal government agency the Robert Koch Institute, Portugal, Russia, India, and Nepal were all downgraded.

Visitors to such countries will have fewer needs as a result of the change. On their return or arrival, people who have received both vaccination doses or can show they have recovered from COVID-19 will not need to isolate.

People who have not been vaccinated will be required to self-isolate, but only for up to 10 days. They will also have the option to leave isolation early with a negative coronavirus test on the fifth day.

Jens Spahn, the Minister of Health, hinted last week that a policy reform could be on the way.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra to skip the megapixel war

Samsung Galaxy S22

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra was previously reported to feature Samsung’s upcoming 200MP sensor, but new sources contradict this.  Samsung-related leakster, has now backed up previous claims, saying that the company will not make another push in the megapixel fight.

The company intends to employ a “polished” new version of the current 108MP ISOCELL HM3 sensor instead of the 200MP sensor. Regrettably, there are no specifics about what “polished” means.

We’re also curious if Samsung is having trouble producing a high-quality 200MP sensor, or if the company has just concluded there’s still a lot of potential in the 108MP ISOCELL imager to be explored before moving on.

Nintendo announced new Switch with OLED display

Nintendo

A new version of Nintendo’s Switch console was introduced today. The new edition, simply dubbed Nintendo Switch (OLED model), comes with an upgraded display, more storage, better speakers, and a nicer design.

The 7-inch OLED display is the most notable new feature. Although all models have the same 1280×720 resolution, this is a step up over the regular model’s 6.2-inch IPS LCD.

The back of the OLED model also has a new kickstand. Unlike the conventional model, which has a thin strip, the OLED model has a wider flap that is more durable and can be changed to numerous configurations.

The audio has also been improved. Nintendo doesn’t go into great details about the changes, other than to say that the audio from the bottom-firing dual speakers has been improved over the standard model.

The dock for the OLED model has been upgraded as well. It now has an integrated LAN connector, allowing you to play in docked mode with more dependable cable access. This dock is available separately and should work with both the standard and premium models.

If you’re curious about what’s new on the inside, there’s not much to discuss. The only difference is that this variant has 64GB of internal storage, which is twice as much as the standard model. The OLED variant still uses the same Nvidia Tegra X1 SoC as the Switch, so don’t anticipate any performance improvements.

Aside from these tweaks, this is still the same Switch that we’ve all grown to know and love. This means it works with the same games and accessories as the normal model and has the same battery life.

All-Electric Rolls Royce Plane set to take first flight

Electric Plane

Jaguar I-Pace electric cars will provide ground assistance as Rolls-Royce Holdings’ all-electric plane prepares to take its first flight in the coming weeks in a world-record attempt for flight speed. The carbon-neutral project will use zero-emission cars as towing and support vehicles.

In order to set a world record for the fastest all-electric plane, the aviation company’s ‘Spirit of Innovation’ all-electric aircraft is aiming for a speed of 300+ mph (480+ km/h) in its maiden flight. The plane uses the most power-dense battery pack ever manufactured for a plane to power its electric propulsion system, which produces 500+ horsepower. Rolls-Royce claims that the battery can power 250 houses at once or fly from London to Paris on a single charge.

Rolls-Royce said both the manufacturers are committed to reducing their carbon footprints, which is why it chose I-Pace electric cars as its ground support fleet. Since 2014, the airline has cut its greenhouse gas emissions in half and is on course to fulfill its 2030 goal of zero emissions from operations. Jaguar Land Rover, on the other hand, has set a goal of zero carbon emissions across its supply chain, products, and operations by 2039. “Rolls-Royce and Jaguar Land Rover are UK pioneers in their respective industries, focused on advancing electrical technology,” says Rob Watson, Director of Rolls-Royce Electrical.

The ‘Accelerating the Electrification of Flight’ (ACCEL) initiative developed the ‘Spirit of Innovation’ electric aircraft. YASA, an electric motor and Controller Company, and Electroflight, an aviation start-up, are two of the program’s key collaborators. The Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) of the United Kingdom, as well as the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and Innovate, have each contributed half of the project’s costs.

Central Bank of China issued a warning to firms regarding crypto-related businesses

Cryptocurrency

Central Bank of China has issued a warning to firms, to stop the services regarding crypto-related businesses.

The Chinese central bank has announced the removal of a Beijing-based software firm over its suspected connection in cryptocurrency trading.

Beijing Qudao Cultural Development Co Ltd. was banned by Chinese authorities for suspected cryptocurrency trading, according to a statement made on Tuesday.

According to Reuters, the software company has been ordered to cease operations immediately, and its website has been taken down.

The People’s Bank of China‘s stance on cryptocurrency-related activities was also underlined in the statement from the Beijing financial supervision administration.

In addition to dealing directly with cryptocurrencies, Beijing organizations shall not provide venues, commercial displays, or advertising for any cryptocurrency-related operations.

This statement came after the Chinese government passed a slew of anti-crypto policies.

Whereas, the government made a statement in May asking for more strict crypto asset regulation.

The issue escalated in June when China’s central bank stated that cryptocurrency traders’ accounts will be cancelled.

A massive miner exodus caused the Bitcoin network hash-rate to fall to its lowest levels since 2019.

On the contrary, regulations have also cut off access to Bitcoin mining in the country.

Bitcoin’s price has dropped nearly 42% since May, due in large part to unfavorable government regulations in China. With China’s long-running anti-crypto campaign unlikely to end soon, Bitcoin will need to find support elsewhere if it is to prevent further decline.

Richard Donner, the director of Superman, dies at the age of 91

Richard Donner

Richard Donner, the 91-year-old Hollywood director who directed Superman and The Goonies, died.

His wife, film producer Lauren Shuler Donner, told the news website Deadline that he died on Monday.

With 1976’s The Omen, he got his big break, and he went on to create Free Willy and The Lost Boys.

Steven Spielberg, who wrote the narrative for The Goonies, said Richard Donner was “gifted across so many genres”.

“Being in his circle was akin to hanging out with your favorite coach, smartest professor, fiercest motivator, most endearing friend, staunchest ally, and – of course – the greatest Goonie of all,” Mr. Spielberg said.

“He was all kid. All heart. All the time. I can’t believe he’s gone, but his husky, hearty laugh will stay with me always.”

Donner, who was born in the Bronx, New York, began his career in television in the early 1960s, with roles in shows such as The Twilight Zone and the spy thriller The Man From Uncle.

But it wasn’t until the mid-1970s that he began to make a name for himself in Hollywood. Superman, starring Christopher Reeve and released in 1978, is widely recognized as the first modern superhero film.

In 1985, Donner directed and produced The Goonies. The comedy follows a gang of kids as they search for a lost treasure and has become a cult favorite.
