PM Imran Khan Vows To Uplift The Poor Sections Of Society

Poverty Rate Around The World Soars Due To Pandemic: PM

Prime Minister Imran Khan has on Wednesday (today) participates in a ceremony regarding the distribution of low-cost family flats amongst the labourers under the Naya Pakistan Housing program.

Prime Minister Imran Khan also inaugurates low-cost family flats for labourers at Regi Lalma in Peshawar.

While addressing the press conference, the Prime Minister said that in the past, the poor community has suffered and no one tried to think about the minorities.

He said that the destruction of the country is due to double standards by the past governments and rulers.

“The incumbent government will surely uplift inflation and provide a better life to the poor people,” he added.

The premier further added, “Those who fled the country will not be spared for long and will be brought back.”

“Development of the poor is the first priority of PTI government,” he said.

Prime Minister Imran Khan went on to add that the law should be the same for everyone. “We have to uphold the rule of law,” said the premier.

“All the corrupt mafias are getting united to gain NRO, but I vow not to spare them at any cost,” added PM Imran.

Note that the government is giving Rs 300,000 subsidy on flats while flats are being provided to the labourers on easy instalments and the cost of the project is Rs 5.93 billion.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit the Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project site to review the construction work.

On the occasion, Chairman WAPDA Muzammil Hussain will brief the Prime Minister about the progress of the project.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had performed the groundbreaking of Mohmand Dam in 2019.

The dam is being constructed on River Swat in Mohmand District.

On the special directions of the Prime Minister, work on the project is in full swing without any halt due to the COVID-19.

Pakistani, Palestinian & Turkish FMs Leave For New York To Attend UNGA Session On Palestine

Ahead of the joint departure to New York to attend the urgent United Nations General-Assembly (UNGA) session, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi held a meeting with his Palestinian counterpart Dr Riad Al-Maliki at Ankara airport.

During the meeting, Qureshi and Riad Al-Maliki exchanged views over the evolving situation in Palestine.

He conveyed the resolve of Pakistani leadership, especially Prime Minister Imran Khan, to continue supporting Palestinians’ struggle for the right to self-determination.

Also, the Foreign Minister strongly condemned the Israeli aggression against the innocent Palestinian Muslims.

While on a diplomatic peace mission to save the innocent Palestinians, FM Qureshi said Pakistan and Turkey are united with their brother FM Dr Riyad Al Maliki. “Together, we will stand for the people of Palestine,” he wrote in his tweet.

“Israel should answer for high handedness, should not go unaccountable,” Qureshi said in his statement.

Moreover, The Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, Turkey and Palestine depart together from Ankara for New York to participate in the UNGA session, set to take place on May 20th (Thursday). 

Earlier, Shah Mahmood Qureshi held a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Palace and exchanged views over the ongoing Israel-Palestine clashes.

After visiting Turkey on Tuesday, Qureshi called on the Turkish President in Ankara. Both the countries reaffirmed that the international community has a collective responsibility to ensure necessary steps to address the grave situation in Palestine.

The leaders also discussed the ongoing preparations for the 7th Session of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council that will be held in Turkey this year.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi reiterated appreciation for Turkey’s principled and steadfast support on the issue of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

He also lauded Turkey’s estimable efforts to re-energize the Afghan peace process.

FM Calls Upon Entire Muslim Community To Help Stop Israel’s Persecution In Gaza

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who arrived in Turkey today on an extensive diplomatic mission, said that Pakistan was establishing contacts with different countries in a bid to pressure Israel to stop violence against Palestine, which entered the 9th consecutive day.

In a statement on Tuesday, Shah Mahmood said the Muslims residing in European countries must also play their role in this regard.

He said, “The bombardment in Palestine has resulted in a power outage and affected the supplies of essential commodities.” “It will be lamentable if the international community remained silent on the Palestinian situation, added the Foreign Minister.

After his visit to Turkey, Qureshi, along with foreign ministers of Sudan, Palestine and Turkey will, then, leave for New York to attend the UNGA meeting, set to take place on May 20.

The Foreign Minister will also address an emergency session of the UNGA to reaffirm Pakistan’s support for the cause of oppressed Palestinians.

During his stay in New York, FM Qureshi will hold important meetings with different key figures and talk to international media and present Pakistan’s stance over the situation in Palestine.

PSL 6: PCB Likely To Abandon Remaining Matches After Tough Conditions By UAE Govt.

Despite announcing to host the remaining Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6 matches in Abu Dhabi, the UAE government has put tough restrictions.

According to details, the Abu Dhabi government has given Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) clearance to stage the remaining PSL 6 matches but wants everyone included in the league to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Also, an important virtual meeting, featuring PCB and franchises will be held today (Wednesday) to discuss the tough conditions laid down by the UAE government.

According to the PCB sources, in a short period of time, the conditions related to COVID-19 can not be implemented and also it is not possible to cover travel issues including the vaccination campaign.

However, an important decision regarding the remaining matches is expected in the next few hours.

Earlier, the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) on Tuesday allowed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to hold the remaining 20 matches of PSL 6 in Abu Dhabi.

As soon as ECB got clearance from the UAE authorities, they conveyed the decision to PCB, confirmed the sources.

Sources further added that the PCB will make a final announcement in this regard in consultation with the franchises.

Previously, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had announced the schedule of the remaining matches of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season Six.

Note that Israeli forces began airstrikes and bombardment against the Palestinian civilians, killing more than 200 with their brutal violent acts.
