Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice-President has claimed that she was fed ‘rat-contaminated food’ during her stay in Punjab’s Kot Lakhpat Jail.

In a recent talk with the journalists, Maryam Nawaz complained of the medication she was given in the prison, saying it was “not fit for use at all”.

“I was forced to take fungus-infected medicines in prison,” she claimed.

Earlier, Maryam had also alleged the installation of cameras in her jail cell.

Detailing about her grandmother, Begum Shamim’s death, who had passed away aged 89, the PML-N leader said she had spoken to her over video call two or three days before her death. “My grandmother’s memory had become weak,” she said.

“The last time I talked to my grandmother, she was asking if I had been released from jail; my grandmother thought I was still in prison,” Maryam said. She was released from jail in November 2019.

As the news of Farhan Saeed and Urwa Hocane’s divorce making round on social media, the actress’s father has dismissed rumours of the couple’s separation and termed it fake and baseless.

Urwa and Farhan Saeed’s divorce rumours after three years of marriage were abuzz on social media which stated that the couple has decided to call it quits mutually.

According to the details, breaking his silence on the divorce rumours of Urwa and Farhan, Makhdoom Chaudhry dubbed such news fake and baseless, saying that his daughter and son-in-law were living happily.

Chaudhary further said that Urwa and Farhan will celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary next month and in this regard he had made arrangement as well.

However, the couple has yet not issued any official statement over this matter.

COVID-19: Sindh reports 1403 new cases with 19 casualties in 24 hours

Sindh on Thursday has reported 1403 new Coronavirus cases and 19 casualties during the last 24 hours.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said in a statement, “Sindh reported 1402 new cases when 10585 tests were performed during 24 hours,” he said over the ongoing situation of the pandemic.

In the last 24 hours 19 more patients have succumbed of the virus which spikes up the death toll to 2885, the minister said.

He said that currently 774 COVID-19 patients treated in various hospitals of which 684 are said to be in critical condition including 58 of them on ventilators.

Giving details of the COVID-19 cases reported from Karachi, Murad Ali Shah said that the provincial capital reported 1148 cases today.

Pakistan Covid-19 cases

Pakistan has recorded fresh 3,306 COVID-19 cases and 40 deaths due to the virus in the last 24 hours.

In the past 24 hours, 40 more people succumbed to the disease, taking the death toll to 7,843. 1,418 patients have recovered from the virus during the last 24 hours and 1,968 patients are in critical condition.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), with fresh infections, the national tally of cases now currently stands at 386,198.

Whereas, the active cases stood at 43,963.

A total of 45,999 tests conducted across the country during this period. 334,392 people have recovered from the deadly disease while 5,343,702 samples have been tested thus far.
