Google has released a couple of security features for Google account holders. The search giant will be rolling out new ways to notify people about critical issues with their Google Accounts such as a possible attack by scammers.

Talking about the new alert features, Vice President of Product, Privacy, “We’ll be introducing a redesigned critical alert and a new way of delivering it. When we detect a serious Google Account security issue, we’ll automatically display an alert within the Google app you’re using and help you address it—no need to check email or your phone’s alerts. The new alerts are resistant to spoofing, so you can always be sure they’re coming from us. We’ll begin a limited roll out in the coming weeks and plan to expand more broadly early next year.”

Google will also make it easy for users to edit their Location History data in Timeline by adding places that they have visited with just a few taps. The search giant will also display your personal security and privacy settings when you ask questions like “Is my Google Account secure?”.

Basically, if you search about the security of your Google account, Google will display your privacy settings in the search results so you can modify as per your convenience.

Apart from this, Google will also roll out a Guest Mode for Google Assistant, which is basically an incognito mode. If you turn on the Guest Mode, none of your interactions with Assistant will be stored in your account.

In 2015, Google started alerting users via mail if their Google account was accessed by unverified sources or when someone tried to log in.
