Luv Sinha, son of veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha and brother of Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha, recently shared some intriguing insights about his family and their journey in the film industry. In a candid interview with Siddharth Kannan, Luv opened up about the tough times his father faced during the early days of his career.

He recounted how their family had to endure financial hardships, and there were times when Shatrughan Sinha had to make difficult choices, such as deciding between spending money on bus fare or saving it for food. Luv also revealed that his father had initial struggles with managing his finances when he first moved from Patna to Mumbai to pursue his dreams. He further mentioned that he witnessed both the highs and lows of his father’s career up close.

In the interview, Luv candidly spoke about his own experiences in the film industry. He admitted that there were instances when he attended auditions and felt that he might not fit the role but was called for the audition anyway. Luv expressed that being born into a film family comes with certain advantages, including an understanding of how things sometimes don’t solely work on merit, but he stressed the importance of not getting frustrated or resorting to harmful coping mechanisms like alcohol.

On the work front, Luv Sinha is all set to appear in Anil Sharma’s much-awaited film “Gadar 2,” alongside prominent actors like Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Gupta. The film is scheduled to release on August 11.

Luv Sinha’s revelations provide a glimpse into the challenges and opportunities faced by actors from film industry backgrounds and shed light on the unpredictable nature of showbiz. Despite the family connections, Luv is determined to carve his own path and succeed in the competitive world of cinema.

Dev Anand dissuaded Shatrughan Sinha from having plastic surgery to cover up his facial scar

Dev Anand
  • Shatrughan Sinha opened up about his scar on his face.
  • He got after trying to imitate his uncle’s beard.
  • He contemplated plastic surgery, but Dev Anand stopped him.

Shatrughan Sinha talked openly about how the scar on his face made him feel self-conscious. He recently made an appearance on Arbaaz Khan’s talk show, The Invincibles, where he explained how he acquired the scar while attempting to mimic his uncle’s beard-shaving technique. The seasoned actor claimed that he even considered having plastic surgery, but Dev Anand dissuaded him.

He related to Arbaaz how, as a child, he ended up slashing his cheeks and those of his cousin, leaving a scar on his face. I first cut my cousin’s cheek, then mine, he said in Hindi. They provided me with first aid at home, and that was it, continued Shatrughan. But as I gained some notoriety and began acting in movies, I started to question whether I should have it corrected. I even spoke to a plastic surgeon since I had a phobia over the scar.

“I frequently saw Dev Anand back when I was fighting for equality. Bhool ke bhi mat karna, Dev Saab ne kaha bilkul nahi karna. He categorically stopped me from having the scar corrected and informed me that even he had a tooth gap that finally became fashionable. Dekho mere daant ke bich me bhi gaddha hai. “Bahut jagah banaonga, kya kaise karunga, mujhko, lagta tha ki apni kati-phati shakal le kar aa raha hoon main filmo mein. I used to feel extremely ashamed because I thought I was going into Bollywood with a less-than-ideal look. Plastic surgeon se bhi baat kar lee thi humne.

At the moment, Shatrughan Sinha is a member of parliament and a leader of the All India Trinamool Congress. After earning his degree from Pune’s Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), he started his acting career. He made his acting debut in 1969 with Sajan and went on to star in a number of movies, including Mere Apne (1971) by Gulzar, Dost (1974) by Dulal Guha, Raaste Kaa Patthar (1972), Shaan (1980), and Kaala Patthar (1979).
