PTI seeks parliamentary committee for appointment of new CEC

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Senator Syed Shibli Faraz has written a letter to Chairman Senate Yousuf Raza Gilani demanding the formation of a parliamentary committee for the appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner.

The leader of the opposition in the Senate, Senator Shibli Faraz, wrote a letter to Chairman Senate Yousuf Raza Gilani demanding the formation of a parliamentary committee for the appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner.

Shibli Faraz’s letter states that the current Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja’s tenure is ending on January 26, 2025.

In the letter, it was requested that a parliamentary committee should be formed as soon as possible to appoint the Chief Election Commissioner.

PM lauds diplomatic missions for rendering great services for Pakistan

Prime Minister Imran Khan has appreciated the efforts of Pakistan’s diplomatic missions for rendering great services for the country.

According to the details, Chairman Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting Senator Faisal Javed Khan in his tweet said that the Prime Minister has lauded the efforts of diplomatic missions for delivering notable services for Pakistan especially in terms of highlighting Kashmir cause in front of the entire world.

The PTI Senator said in his tweet:

PM ImranKhan has appreciated efforts of our diplomatic missions for rendering great services for Pak especially in terms of highlighting Kashmir cause in front of the entire world. PM has tasked embassies to solve issues of our diaspora & facilitate them in investing in Pakistan

Earlier this month, while addressing Pakistani envoys posted in capitals around the world virtually, Imran Khan asked them to forgo colonial-era attitudes and treat overseas Pakistanis with compassion.

Referring to the issues that have come to light at the Pakistani missions, Prime Minister Imran acknowledged that he had not paid the matter as much attention as he would have liked because he was occupied with “domestic issues”.

‘Embassies’ foremost work is to service the diaspora and then they should work to bring investment into the country that is going through very bad financial conditions right now,’ said the Prime Minister, adding that, ‘Monitoring should be done so the people working efficiently are encouraged and those who are not being punished as well as the Laborers should be treated with compassion and given special treatment to ease their problems, and not sent back due to frivolous reasons.

PM also added that the evaluation should be conducted to assess which embassies are working to bring more investors and foreign investment into the country.
