DOHA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif leaves for Pakistan after concluding a two-day official visit to Qatar, BOL News reported on Thursday.

The prime minister stated on his official Twitter account that Pakistan and Qatar have a clear vision of the future, with new prospects and increased awareness to improve bilateral relations, notably economic collaboration.

In a tweet, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wrote, “Heading back to Pakistan today after the conclusion of my important trip to Qatar. Thank you to the government & people of Qatar, especially my brother HH Sheikh
@TamimBinHamad for the warm welcome & excellent hospitality.”

PM Shehbaz Sharif mentioned two “notable” features of his visit: first, Pakistan and Qatar shared a clear vision of the future, which offered new chances and outlets in a rapidly changing globe.

Second, he stated that both countries are more aware of the need to improve bilateral relations by making economic cooperation the focal point of bilateral connections.

DOHA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday arrived on a two-day official visit to hold “in-depth consultations” with the leadership and interact with the business community to highlight Pakistan’s investment potential.

As the prime minister landed at the Doha airport, he was warmly received by Qatar’s Minister of Transport Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti.

At the invitation of the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, this is the prime minister’s first visit to Qatar since assuming office in April 2022.
The prime minister is accompanied by the federal cabinet members.
According to Foreign Office, the prime minister will hold “in-depth consultations” with the Qatari leadership.

The two sides will review the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, with a particular focus on advancing energy-related cooperation, deepening trade and investment ties, and exploring greater employment opportunities for Pakistanis in Qatar.

“Leaving for Qatar today at the invitation of my brother HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. The visit will renew the bond of brotherhood & friendship between our two countries,” the prime minister wrote earlier on Twitter before his departure. He said Pakistan wanted to transform the historical bilateral relationships into a “more robust strategic relationship.”

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leadership on Wednesday decided to visit Adiala jail to meet Shahbaz Gill, who was detained by the Islamabad police for speaking out against the state institutions on a private TV show, BOL News reported.

According to the details, the leadership of PTI will reach the Adiala Jail by noon along with General Secretary Asad Umar. Tehreek-e-Insaf Islamabad President Ali Nawaz Awan and former National Assembly member Raja Khurram Nawaz will also be part of the party delegation.

It is being reported that after meeting with Dr. Shahbaz Gill, Asad Umar will also hold an important discussion with the media outside Adiala Jail. The party leader will brief about the health situation of the PTI leader being detained by the police.

 

Shahbaz Gill sedition case

Gill was arrested last week from Banigala, in the capital, a day after making controversial remarks on a private TV channel. He was subsequently booked on charges of sedition and inciting members of state institutions against the Pakistan Army.

On August 9, Minister of Interior Rana Sana Ullah said that PTI) leader Shahbaz Gill was arrested “by the law” on charges of inciting the public against state institutions.

“Shahbaz Gill had made statements against the institutions in an attempt to create hatred among their personnel and incite them towards revolt,” he said while addressing a press conference here.

ISLAMABAD: The investment plan to administer Islamabad International Airport has been completed by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to the State of Qatar may give management control to the Qatari authorities, BOL news reported on Wednesday. 

According to the details, the CAA finance, legal, and commercial departments have completed the plan. At Islamabad Airport, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and CAA authorities will give a briefing to the PM. It is also being considered to transfer the management control of the Roosevelt Hotel in the United States of America (USA) to Qatari authorities.

During his official visit to Qatar from August 22 to 23, the Prime Minister of Pakistan will offer investment in Islamabad Airport and PIA’s Roosevelt Hotel in America to the Qatari authorities.

According to the civil aviation sources, CAA and PIA officials have prepared all the plans after reviewing the laws and selling the desirable shares to Qatari authorities. The government of Pakistan wants to get foreign exchange by making a big financial deal with Qatar. The government plans to sell 51 percent of the shares, including management control, of the Roosevelt Hotel to Qatar.
