PM Shehbaz offers to form parliamentary committed to PTI

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif once again invited the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf(PTI) to hold talks and offered to form a parliamentary committee.

Addressing the Federal Cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister said that openly sit with PTI for negotiation and provided them with a conducive environment for talks but PTI was fleeing the talks.

The Prime Minister said that PML-N has held talks with PTI good intention and government committee offered PTI to give written demands.

Shahbaz Sharif offered to make PTI a parliamentary committee instead of a judicial commission and said that PTI should sit again for talks. He said government is ready to form a house committee and added that government is sincerely ready for talks.

It should be noted that PTI has demanded a judicial commission to investigate May 9 and November 26 events.

PTI quit the talks after three meetings, stated that the government was not interested in addressing its demands.

Registrar SC sends three names for new CJP appointment

ISLAMABAD: Registrar Supreme Court (SC) has send three names for the new Chief Justice of Pakistan to Special Parliamentary Committee.

The Registrar of the Supreme Court has sent three names to the Special Parliamentary Committee on behalf of Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa.

Sources said that a letter was written to the Registrar Supreme Court on behalf of the Ministry of Law, in which the names of three senior judges were sought for the new Chief Justice.

The names of Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Muneeb Akhtar and Justice Yahya Afridi have been sent for the new Chief Justice.

After the implementation of the 26th constitutional amendment, the parliamentary committee meeting for the appointment of the new Chief Justice will be held today and the appointment of the new Chief Justice will be done three days before the retirement of the current Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa.

Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa has moved to chamber work before retirement where he will write judgments these days.

Parliamentary Committee approves judges’ names for elevation to SC

ISLAMABAD: The Parliamentary Committee on the Appointment of Judges approved the names of judges proposed by the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) for elevation to the Supreme Court on Friday.

The meeting of the Parliamentary Committee for the appointment of Judges on the issue of appointment of Supreme Court judges ended in which the names sent by the Supreme Judicial Commission were approved.

The parliamentary committee approved Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Malik Shehzad Ahmad Khan as a Supreme Court judge, while Chief Justice Sindh High Court Justice Aqeel Ahmad Abbasi was approved as a Supreme Court judge and Lahore High Court Justice Shahid Bilal was also approved as a Supreme Court judge.

QUETTA: The names of the Government Parliamentary Committee for the nomination of the Caretaker Chief Minister of Balochistan have been sent to the Speaker Balochistan Assembly.

Sources say that Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has finalized the names of the members of the parliamentary committee for the nomination of caretaker chief minister of Balochistan.

Sources say that the names of the government parliamentary committee have been sent to the Speaker Balochistan Assembly.

Sources say that the parliamentary committee includes Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, Sardar Abdul Rahman Khetran and Zamarak Khan Achakzai.

It should be noted that the government and the opposition could not agree on a single name for caretaker chief minister of Balochistan.

Later, the matter went to the parliamentary committee. If the parliamentary committee could not agree on a single name, then the provincial election commission will appoint Chief Minister of Balochistan.
