Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi will leave for a three-day official visit to Iran on Tuesday (tomorrow).

According to sources, Shah Mahmood Qureshi will arrive in Tehran after ending his visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The foreign minister will meet his Iranian counterpart where they will discuss bilateral ties, the Afghanistan reconciliation process and other matters, added sources.

On the other hand, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met Minister of State HE Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh of UAE during his official visit to the country.

Both the leaders discussed promoting bilateral relations, mutual cooperation between Pakistan and UAE in various sectors. They also exchanged views on regional and global issues.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), FM Qureshi and HE Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh agreed that immense trade and investment opportunities existed between Pakistan and UAE.

The two also agreed to frequently exchange trade delegations.

The Foreign Minister FM also stressed utilizing avenues of Economic Diplomacy.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had reached the United Arab Emirates on a three-day visit.

During his visit, Qureshi held meetings with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other senior UAE leaders.

The Foreign Minister also talked with local and international media representatives of the UAE and explain Pakistan’s views on various regional and global issues.

Prime Minister Imran Khan held a telephone conversation with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. 

Both the leaders exchanged views on COVID-19 pandemic and regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Pakistan and the UAE reiterated to further solidify and strengthen the multifaceted bilateral relationship.

The Premier and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan agreed to continue working closely to enhance bilateral ties as well as cooperation in multilateral organizations.

Earlier, answering the questions of the people in the program ‘Your questions, the prime minister’s answers” Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that COVID-19 vaccines will be shared fairly among nation without any discrimination of rich and poor.

PM Imran Khan said that first of all government will try to get the medical staff to be vaccinated, then the procedure is to give the vaccine to those over 60 years of age or those suffering from other diseases.

The premier had given good news to the nation about housing project which PTI government has started and said that at first, 300,000 subsidies will be given by the government for 100,000 houses.

No government in the world can provide housing to all the poor, we had created a system under which houses will be built for the poor through banks, he had added.

Pakistan, UAE discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral ties

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has on Thursday held a meeting with UAE’s Prime Minister Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in Dubai.

The meeting resulted in the enhanced cooperation of Pakistan and UAE in the agriculture sector.

During the meeting, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan desires to further strengthen its relations with the UAE by enhancing bilateral cooperation in the areas of trade and economy.

He said Pakistani Pavilion in Dubai’s Exp 2020 will truly reflect the historic relations that exist between the two countries.

The Foreign Minister said millions of Pakistanis are playing their full role in the development of the UAE over the last many decades.

He also raised with the UAE’s Prime Minister the problems faced by the Pakistani community in the Emirates.

On the other hand, the Foreign Minister also held discussion with Ambassador of UAE to Pakistan Hamad Obaid Ibrahim. They both discussed bilateral relations between the two countries.

In his remarks, FM Qureshi expressed the confidence that the relations between the two countries will gain further strength in future.
