Pakistani singer Falak Shabir has never shied away from stating his thoughts without considering the repercussions.

Shabir, who isn’t afraid to call a spade a spade, has always been outspoken about current issues, including global inflation, domestic abuse, and poverty. Shabir’s 2.3 million Instagram followers are full of admiration for him since he uses his platform to bring up difficult issues.

The singer of Mera Mann Kehne Laga uploaded an Instagram story that raised a serious subject in a light-hearted manner, saying, “After a few days, the following will be heard the moment you dial a call; Poverty is a deadly and fatal disease that should be avoided at all costs. Eat less, wear ragged clothes, and try to walk or use a bicycle as much as you can for traveling. Remember this, you have to fight the inflation, not the government.”

Shabir was worried since Pakistan’s annual inflation rate increased from 23.8% in November to 24.5% in December of 2022. According to trading economics, food prices increased 35.5% last month, up from 31.2% the month before. The highest rises were seen in the prices of onions (415%), tea (63.8%), wheat (57.3%), eggs (54.4), gram whole (53.2%), and rice (46.6%).

Shabir’s most recent singles include the songs Ja Jee Lay, Bechain Jawani, Yaadan, Mahi Ve, Sapnay, and Chup Chup Ke on the music front.

Due to high prices in the country, Pakistan’s government has decided to import tomatoes from Iran.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of National Food Security said that tomatoes and onions will be imported from Iran due to high prices in Pakistan, and in this regard, the federal government has given a green signal.

According to the spokesperson, tomatoes and onions will be imported for one month only. He further said that permits have been issued so that importers can import as many onions and tomatoes as they want for only a month.

It is pertinent to mention here that on Saturday, the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan had announced to take strict action against the rising prices of food from this week.
