PNMC approves professional code of conduct for nurses , midwives

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council (PNMC) has approved a comprehensive professional code and conduct and practices for nurses, midwives LHVs and nursing auxiliaries.

This decision enhance professionalism and uphold ethical standards within the nursing and midwifery community.  The council approved the regulation and best practices regarding professional ethics committee and executive committee.

These regulations establish guidelines for maintaining competency and ethical conduct among professionals and outline the election procedures and functions of the executive committee, ensuring transparency and accountability in governance matters.

The Council also approved the regulations regarding members and academic committee; these regulations govern the appointment, responsibility and the functions of  academic committee, focused on enhancing academic standards fostering innovation in nursing and midwifery education and establishing protocols for the completion of term and removal from office. These regulations aim to maintain the integrity and effectiveness of PNMC leadership.

These regulations ensure that the council operates within legal boundaries and adheres to council’s standards, guidelines and best practices.

It also safeguards the clients, stakeholders and employees of PNMC and protect sensitive information and assets of the council and eliminate the potential risk. It also includes standards and protocols to maintain the quality of services and process of the Council.
