Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has received the second dose of the Coronavirus vaccine in order to battle the deadly pandemic.

In a tweet on Saturday, Asad Umar said, “Got my 2nd dose of vaccination today. Please do not delay your 2nd dose. Generally, Pakistani’s have been good about getting the 2nd dose on time with more than 80% doing so. However, in the last few days before eid, there was a drop in the number of people coming for the 2nd dose.”

He also urged the masses to not delay their second vaccine jabs at any cost.

Earlier, the minister had informed that it is the first time that over one hundred and sixty-four thousand people were vaccinated against COVID-19 in a single day on April 04.

In a tweet, he said the vaccination process of people aged forty and above was also started yesterday across the country.

He had also assured satisfactory SOP compliance in Pakistan as the country is witnessing the third wave of Coronavirus.

“Significant improvement seen in SOP compliance since the stronger enforcement measures including military deployment took place. National average compliance has doubled from 34% on 25th April to 68% on 3rd May. Need to sustain and build on this compliance level specially till eid,” he tweeted.

Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has on Tuesday (today) informed that it is the first time that over one hundred and sixty four thousand people were vaccinated against COVID-19 in a single day on April 04.

In a tweet, he said the vaccination process of people aged forty and above was also started yesterday across the country.

On the other hand, Asad Umar in another tweet assured satisfactory SOP compliance in Pakistan as the country is witnessing the third wave of Coronavirus.

“Significant improvement seen in SOP compliance since the stronger enforcement measures including military deployment took place. National average compliance has doubled from 34% on 25th April to 68% on 3rd May. Need to sustain and build on this compliance level specially till eid,” he tweeted.

Earlier, the Minister had said that the British variant of the novel coronavirus has strengthened its roots in the entire region.

Asad Umar, who is also the Chief of the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC), had stressed that strict implementation of health protocols can curb the spread of the virus.

He had said that the prevalence of the epidemic recorded high in Punjab, Islamabad, Azad Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, whereas the administration is doing its best to implement the SOPs.

Asad Umar had predicted a spike of coronavirus cases in the country during the last 10 days of Ramadan, as a mass number of people visit markets.

The minister had also revealed that over 1.3 million people have so far been vaccinated against COVID-19 across the country and sixty to seventy thousand vaccines are currently being administered on daily basis.

“It is our effort to enhance it to one hundred and fifty thousand to two hundred thousand after Eid-ul-Fitr,” he added.

Sindh govt. ensures proper vaccination to healthcare workers: Asad Umar

Chief of the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC), Asad Umar has on Sunday said that the Sindh government has been told to ensure that the coronavirus vaccines are only administered to healthcare workers.

“We have received complaints that the coronavirus vaccine is being given to acquaintances in Karachi besides healthcare workers,” said Umar.

He said that the NCOC team, under the supervision of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s adviser on health Dr Faisal Sultan, held a meeting with the Sindh government representatives, where they were “firmly told to ensure that the vaccine is only given to healthcare workers”.

Inflation continues to decline in Pakistan: Asad Umar

Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar says inflation continues to decline in the country.

In a tweet on Sunday, he said during current month inflation on Consumer Price Index is down to 5.7 percent, while the Core Inflation is at 5.4 percent.

Asad Umar said prior to PTI government formation, in July 2018, the Cosumer Price Index was 5.8 percent while core was 7.6 percent, indicating that the rate of inflation is lower today than prior to the PTI government.

Earlier, Asad Umar had stressed on maintaining the momentum of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects and following the timelines for their early completion.

He had said CPEC is a priority project for enhancing Pak-China economic cooperation.

The forum reviewed the progress on various projects undertaken by the Working Groups under CPEC.

The meeting was briefed on the overall progress of CPEC projects in Industrial Cooperation, Energy, Infrastructure, Gwadar, Science and Technology, Socio-Economic Development, Agriculture, Transport and Communications and issues faced in the implementation of these projects.

The committee also emphasized that unresolved inter- ministerial issues should be brought before the Cabinet Committee on CPEC directly by the respective Ministries along with recommendations for their resolution.

The committee noted that significant progress has been achieved on various projects.

Pakistan: NCOC unveils comprehensive plan to administer COVID vaccine

NCOC announces to relax restrictions in 8 cities with highest level of vaccination

Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has on Wednesday said that the system for vaccination is in place across the country. Hundreds of vaccination centres in the country will be administering COVID-19 vaccine soon, he said.

The National Command and Control Centre (NCOC) session was chaired earlier today by Asad Umar, accompanied by NCOC Lieutenant General Hamood-uz-Zaman Khan and Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood.

The NCOC has unveiled a comprehensive plan to administer the vaccine for the Covid-19 across the country to curb deadly virus’s outbreak.

The plan has been adopted after taking all the provinces and other stakeholders onboard. It added that the strategy has been evolved in light of the established international regulations and health guidelines.

Moreover, the meeting was informed that the NIMS is fully digital, aimed at limiting the human error, and it will impart the information relating to the AVCs and appointments for vaccinations to the masses automatically.

The forum was apprised that vaccination centres have been established across the country, while the training of staff and other arrangements have been completed to begin the inoculation.
