Terrorists may attack govt buildings in Karachi, KMC issues security alert

On Saturday, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) issued a security alert in the light of the intelligence report saying that terrorists may target the government buildings in Karachi.

KMC has asked the concerned officials to strengthen the security of all the government buildings in the metropolis and ensure checking of all the vehicles at the entrance.

Moreover, a ban has been imposed by the officials on the entry of unrelated people and vehicles at the KMC office’s premises.

Earlier, law enforcement in Karachi reportedly closed roads in some areas of Clifton and Security is on high alert, especially around foreign missions, amid extraordinary security concerns over the threat of terrorism.

Residents and commuters faced difficulties due to the closure of residential areas and roads.

Police sources said that in view of the threat of terrorism, a high-security alert has been issued in the red zone of Clifton, especially in areas where foreign consulates and their staff reside.
