ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court(IHC) rejected the bail plea of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Vice Chairman and former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in the cypher case.
Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Amir Farooq reserved the decision on November 8 after hearing the arguments of the parties.
The prosecution requested Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s bail petition to be rejected.
Earlier, Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain of the Special Court of Official Secrets Act rejected the bail application of Chairman PTI and Shah Mahmood Qureshi, after which Chairman PTI approached the Supreme Court and pleaded for release on bail. Chief Justice Amir Farooq had also rejected PTI chairman’s bail request.
Today, the court rejected Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s bail plea while giving a brief verdict.
Vice Chairman PTI Shah Mahmood Qureshi is in Adiala Jail on judicial remand.
