Since the slap heard around the world at the Oscars just over a month ago, Will Smith’s world has been flipped upside down.

Will has lost movie deals and received a lot of backlash, and now everyone is wondering what this means for the couple’s relationship.

The latest rumour got traction after Heat Magazine published an article in which an insider said: “Ever since the Oscars scandal, tensions between them have been palpable. There have been problems for years, but they’re barely speaking right now. If they were to split, Will has a fortune of $350million that Jada would be entitled to half of under Californian law.”

Divorce wasn’t even addressed by the insider, they only looked at what it would mean for Will and Jada, but they did insinuate the couple is on the rocks.

That said, we can’t make snap judgments based on an unsubstantiated suspicion.

Will and Jada haven’t mentioned their breakup yet.

Jada Pinkett was forcibly married to Will Smith by her mother

When Jada Pinkett Smith was forcibly asked to marry her now-husband, Will Smith, she had no intention of doing so.

Jada is shown in a leaked film revealing that she cried during the Oscars ceremony after Will Smith was banned.

“I was under so much pressure, you know, being a young actress, being young, and I was just, like, pregnant and I just didn’t know what to do,” shared Jada on Red Table Talk.

“I never wanted to be married,” she confessed.

“I really didn’t wanna get married,” As she sat across from Adrienne Banfield-Norris, Will Smith, and Willow Smith, Pinkett Smith reiterated.

“We only got married because Gammy(Banfield-Norris) was crying,” Will Smith laughed.

“It was almost as if Gammy was like, ‘You have to get married, so let’s talk about the wedding,’” said Pinkett Smith.

Jada’s mother then admitted: “I remember feeling very strongly and wanting you guys to be married.”

“I do remember [wanting you and Will to get married] but I don’t remember your rejection of the idea of marriage,” she added. “I remember the rejection of the idea of a wedding but not of a marriage.”

“The wedding was horrible,” Banfield-Norris conceded. “It was a mess. Jada was sick, she was very unpleasant … She didn’t cooperate with anything.”

Jada agreed before confessing: “And I was so upset that I had to have a wedding. I was so pissed I went crying down the freaking aisle. I cried the whole way down the aisle.”

However, in retrospect, the couple agreed that marrying each other was “the right call.”
