Chief Hansal Mehta took to Twitter and shared his audit of Bheed, the impending film featuring Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar which is scheduled for discharge on Walk 24. The struggle of migrant workers in India during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020 is the subject of the film, which is directed by Anubhav Sinha. The situation is compared to that of the Partition of India in 1947. “One of the best ensembles since Maqbool,” Hansal said of the film and the cast’s performances.

The National Award-winning director tweeted the movie poster and wrote, “#” to share his brief review on Twitter. Bheed in theaters tomorrow. In addition to being a significant historical document, this movie is dramatic and engaging, featuring one of the best ensembles since Maqbool. @RajkummarRao does a fantastic job of portraying a conflicted “in-charge.” @anubhavsinha performs admirably. “Pankajji (Pankaj Kapur), Virubhai (Veerendra Saxena), Ashutosh Rana, Aditya Shrivastava, Bhumi, and the entire cast put together by @CastingChhabra is terrific,” he added in the comments section. When the movie’s official trailer was released earlier this month, it got a lot of attention. After cutting out a speech by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a line that made reference to the Partition, the trailer was later taken down and re-released to mixed reviews. During an interview, Anubhav had stated, “Of course, these changes are obvious.” The aforementioned modifications are accurate, and the trailer was unavailable for two days. However, the filmmaker is responsible for this reason. I would prefer not to disturb the sacredness of the film.

When Sumit Kadel, a film business analyst, referred to the movie as “absolutely ridiculous,” Hansal had also spoken out in support of the production. “So you’ve seen the movie, I suppose,” he said. Hansal also wrote, “Let’s hear the political ideology you espouse in your tweet sir,” in response to a separate tweet. My opinion is in favor of free speech and expression. I believe in inclusivity and am open to criticism and discussion.”

Benaras Mediaworks, owned by Anubhav, produces Bheed, which was primarily shot in Lucknow. Dia Mirza, Kritika Kamra, Virendra Saxena, Aditya Srivastava, and Karan Pandit are also featured in Bheed.

Even though the teaser does not yet feature any of the movie’s cast, it establishes the mood for the whole thing. Our darkest days in black and white, according to Bheed’s tagline.” The director explained to Variety why the decision was made to tell the drama in black and white. He revealed, “The story of Bheed takes place during a time when everything for humanity was in danger. This tale is about folks whose lives were abruptly altered and whose colors were erased when the border was drawn.

While Bhumi Pednekar plays the part of a doctor, Rajkummar appears to be portraying a police officer. The ensemble cast for the movie also includes Pankaj Kapur, Ashutosh Rana, Dia Mirza, Virendra Saxena, Aditya Shrivastava, Kritika Kamra, and Karan Pandit.
