CAA placed strict measures at airports to prevent spread of coronavirus

On Sunday, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has imposed strict measures to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus at the country’s airport.

According to the details, at Karachi airport, only one visitor will be allowed as well as at the Bacha Khan and Quetta international airports. People who will be coming to receive their guests from the airport are directed to wait in their own vehicles.

On the airport premises, wearing a face mask has been made mandatory for everyone.

Earlier in the month, CAA had issued new travel guidelines for the passengers in order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.

PDM Karachi Jalsa: Opposition leaders, attendees ignore following SOPs

In the second Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) jalsa that is being held in Karachi today (Sunday), none of the Opposition leaders nor participants followed SOPs to avoid the spread of coronavirus.

The PDM has violated the agreement reached with the administration again in its second rally. A per the details, no social distancing is being followed at the Baagh-e-Jinnah ground. No leader was seen wearing face masks as well.

The attendees are standing and sitting right next to each other.

It should be mentioned here that The Opposition Alliance of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) had violated the agreement reached with the administration at its first gathering in Gujranwala held on Friday (16th October).

567 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan during 24 hours

On Sunday, Pakistan reported 9,296 active cases as 567 more people were tested positive during the last 24 hours for the deadly coronavirus.

According to the latest update issued by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), 16 corona patients died, out of whom 15 were under treatment in the hospital, and one at home.

In the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Balochistan, no corona affected patients were on a ventilator. On the other hand, in different cities of the country 74 ventilators were occupied out of 1884 allocated for COVID-19 patients.

Earlier on October 4th, The Prime Minister Pakistan Imran Khan had urged masses to strictly follow the health protocols devised to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.

He tweeted,

“Compared to some other states, Allah has been kind to us in Pak & spared us the worst effects of COVID-19.”

The Prime Minister added that,

”There is a fear onset of winter could result in 2nd wave.”

Imran Khan in addition to this said,

“I urge everyone to wear face masks in public to avoid a spike. All offices & ed institutions must ensure masks are worn.”
