Hasan Raheem, Momina Mustehsan, & Others Condemn Israel’s Brutal Airstrikes In Gaza

Hasan Raheem
  • Hasan Raheem has not held back with his views on hospital bombing in Gaza.
  • Asim Azhar expressed outrage at the hospital bombing.
  • Iqra Aziz reshared a pro-Palestinian story which had her tagged.

Pakistani celebrities are using their social media platforms to stand for Palestine. While some have been continually sharing news from places devastated by Israeli attacks, others who had previously been silent are now speaking out.

Yumna Zaidi, a well-known actor, posted a photo of herself on Instagram with the slogan “Free Palestine.” She also posted a text-based Story in which she stated, “I stand with Palestine,” followed by “Gaza” and an emoji representing a drop of blood.

Along with Yumna, singer Asim Azhar stated on his Instagram Story, “If you bomb a hospital. And still claim to be the victim. Speechless.” He also used the hashtag “Free Palestine” Actor Adnan Malik tweeted a video of a hospital in Gaza being bombarded, writing, “Attacking hospitals now…”

Iqra Aziz reshared a Story that tagged her. The original Instagram Story stated, “A growing total of babies, toddlers and children have been killed so far. We have been seeing videos of traumatised parents but for a parent to raise a kid or kids in some cases and then see them get killed, how these parents must they have lost their purpose in life.”

The post which tagged Iqra Aziz along with others further added, “I see my closest friends raising kids and I have noticed how their whole world is around their babies. I may just be raising cats but I spend hours on them, kids are a lot more and it breaks my heart to see these numbers as each kid equates to two parents who have just lost their world.” In addition to this, Iqra also shared a post that read, “You don’t have to be a Muslim to stand with Palestine. You have to be a human.”

Singer Hasan Raheem, who has been open about his position on the topic, has not held back with his views. Hasan Raheem penned, “All the so-called woke f***s sitting ducks on the sideline and still silent on the genocide, I’m glad you’ve shown your true sides. Palestine bleeds and you’re all complicit.”

Hasan Raheem wrote in another post, “Israel is a satellite state created by the West to cause disorder in the Middle East. There’s no other probable justification for its existence.”

Momina Mustehsan, too, resorted to social media to express her feelings. “I appeal to the humanity of Egypt/Jordan to allow corridors of safe passage for at least the children. Children who can barely string a single sentence – how can they take sides in any conflict? How can they deserve collective punishment? I’ve grown up having faith in the United Nations to find a way to honour humanity. Please find it in you to be there for the children, if not all civilians. Let children be children.”

Momina, on the other hand, wrote a post on X that may have gotten her in trouble, which she addressed. “I grieve with my Jewish friends for the innocent lives lost. I grieve with Muslims and Christians of Palestine for countless lives taken daily, for decades. How many lives are enough? How much land is enough? Collective punishment of besieged and oppressed community is against humanity.”

She went on saying, “Wow never thought the condemnation of human killings gets Pakistani Twitter want to come for your life. I do not believe the state of Israel represents all Jews, just like I don’t believe the Indian government represents all Hindus, nor does the Pakistani government represent all Muslims.” She continued, “I believe in humanity and the preservation of human lives foremost overall state politics, all religions, all belief systems. If I haven’t been posting the same material on here that I’m posting on Instagram, doesn’t mean everyone has to come at me, abuse me and will for me to die.”

She stressed, “I oppose the policies and practices of the Israeli government. The people of Palestine have been oppressed, besieged and denied their human rights for decades. This genocide needs to stop. However, it brings me no joy to see civilian casualties, even on the side of the oppressor.” When asked, “Do your Jewish friends, grieve for Palestinians?” Momina replied, “They actually do, very much. They have been leading protests in New York, calling for an end to the genocide and asking the state of Israel to stop killing in their name.”

In addition to these celebrities, Osman Khalid Butt, who has been active about this topic for a long time, has continued to support Palestine on X. The actor claimed, quoting a tweet that said, “Happening now in DC: the largest Jewish protest in solidarity with Palestinians in US history,” the actor said, “The tide is turning.”

Ushna Shah Urges Pakistanis To Keep Raising Voice For Palestine

Ushna Shah
  • Armeena Khan spoke out against the escalating humanitarian situation.
  • She condemned Israel’s horrific occupation of Palestinian territories.
  • She asked Pakistanis to “forget any distraction they throw.”

Celebrities from across the world have expressed their sorrow in the aftermath of an air attack on the al-Ahli Hospital on Day 12 of Israel’s onslaught in Gaza, which claimed 500 people. The Israeli Defense Forces have denied responsibility for the awful blast, which Palestinian health officials blamed on a “failed rocket launch by a Palestinian fighter group.”

The blast was the worst event in Gaza since Israel started an unrelenting bombing campaign against the densely populated neighbourhood.

Ushna Shah and Armeena Khan have both spoken out against the escalating humanitarian situation. Condemning Israel’s horrific occupation of Palestinian territories, Shah sent an ‘open letter’ on Instagram with the statement, “Forget world cups, forget scandals, forget any distraction they throw your way. Appealing to fellow Pakistanis.”

A post shared by Ushna Shah-Amin (@ushnashah)

The letter urged the “people of Pakistan” to be more vocal regarding the Israeli state’s abuse of Palestinians. The actor voiced her dissatisfaction with Muslim nations’ weak response despite growing death tolls to safeguard geostrategic goals. “Many of the Muslim powerhouses have disappointingly stepped back from this crucial issue. The responsibility, thus, falls upon us – the everyday people, the activists, the artists, the influencers, and the voices of Pakistan – to continue the fight,” she penned.

She continued, “The seeds of Zionism have deeply rooted themselves in Western discourse, allowing many to see the Palestinian people as less than human. The legacy of colonization continues to exist, very much so.” Shah also discussed media censorship and misinformation surrounding news about Palestine. She said, “Social media algorithms appear designed to suppress voices advocating for Palestine, shadow-banning those who dare to speak up. But this cannot and should not deter us.”

Armeena Khan also asked followers to raise awareness about Palestine in a series of Instagram stories, as the death toll in Gaza continues to rise. “Gaza is an open-air prison. All entry points are sealed off by ISRL! Except for the Rafah Crossing in Egypt which has been bombed,” she said. Commenting on the Israeli blockade of Gaza, the actor offered, “Nobody is being allowed in, hence, the global outcry. There is a chance aid will be allowed in soon as negotiations are underway but right now even the U.N. has no presence.”

Khan reshared a screenshot of the Iraqi-American influencer shutting down an Israeli troll declaring a boycott of Huda Beauty cosmetics, giving a ‘big shout out’ to Huda Beauty CEO Huda Kattan. She wrote, “I don’t want your blood money,” drawing praise from pro-Palestinian supporters including Khan, who said, “I’ve never bought from her before but now I will be a regular customer. Thank you for being so selfless, Huda. You are an icon.”

In a hostile setting of mass doxxing operations and restriction of Palestinian voices, Khan praised Mira Sethi for taking a courageous stand for justice. She added, “Shout out to our very own @mira.sethi as well. I find her to be an amazing human being. Thank you for standing up,”

Dua Lipa Calls For ‘Ceasefire In Gaza’

Dua Lipa
  • Dua Lipa commented on the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine.
  • She asked countries to solve the severe humanitarian issue in Gaza.
  • She expressed her great grief on her Instagram Story.

Dua Lipa, a Hollywood celebrity, recently used her Instagram Story to convey her sincere comments on the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine.

The English-Albanian singer, who is of Muslim descent, expressed her great grief and asked countries to solve the severe humanitarian issue in a moving and thorough statement on her Instagram Story.

Lipa also posted a fundraiser titled “Urgent relief for Gaza’s children” and contributed her voice by adding, “With each passing day, my heart aches for the people of Israel and Palestine. I grieve for the lives lost in the distressing attacks in Israel and for the unprecedented suffering in Gaza, where 2.2 million individuals, half of them children, endure unimaginable hardships.”

She added, “For now, I fervently hope for a ceasefire in Gaza and appeal to governments to intervene in this unfolding crisis. Our collective hope rests on finding the compassion to acknowledge this severe humanitarian predicament.” She concluded her message by “sending love to Palestinian and Jewish communities around the world, who bear the weight of this burden more deeply than most.”

On the eleventh day of the conflict, Israel launched a deadly attack in Gaza, hitting Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital, and killing approximately 500 people, including women and children. Ashraf al-Qudra, a spokesman for the Health Ministry, confirmed the high fatality toll, with many of the casualties being children and women who had serious injuries. The aftermath of the hospital attack was a frightening spectacle, and medical resources are running low.

Malala Condemns Gaza Hospital Bombing, Demands Israel to Permit Humanitarian Aid in Gaza

Malala
  • Malala condemned Israel’s recent atrocities on Palestine.
  • She voiced her serious worry in a video message.
  • She announced a $300,000 donation to three nonprofit organizations.

Malala Yousafzai, the Nobel Peace Prize recipient, has used her platform to condemn Israel’s recent atrocities on Palestine. She voiced her serious worry in a video message, saying, “I’m appalled by the bombing of al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza, and I unequivocally condemn it.”

She then appealed to the Israeli authorities to let aid into Gaza and emphasized the critical need for a ceasefire. She announced a $300,000 donation to three nonprofit organizations committed to aiding the Palestinian people in their time of need, as well as links for others who desire to donate.

Malala passionately pleaded to her worldwide audience in her video message, stating, “I stand here to add my voice to the chorus of calls for peace, originating from Palestine, Israel, and around the world. Collective punishment is not a solution. Nearly half of Gaza’s population is comprised of children under 18 years old, and subjecting them to a life of constant bombardment and an unjust occupation is unacceptable.”

She went on to say, “I’m directing $300,000 to charities actively working to aid Palestinian children and those in peril. I implore everyone watching this video to consider donating to organizations providing essential humanitarian assistance. Together, we must make it crystal clear to our leaders that we demand an immediate ceasefire and a lasting peace.”

These remarks follow her earlier support for an “immediate ceasefire,” in which she stated, “I join the call for an immediate ceasefire. As I’ve processed the heartbreaking news of recent days, I can’t help but think of the Palestinian and Israeli children caught in the crossfire. I was just 11 years old when I witnessed violence and terrorism. We awoke to the sounds of mortar shells and witnessed our schools and mosques reduced to rubble by bombs. Peace became an elusive dream.”

She stressed, “War never discriminates against children – whether they are taken from their homes in Israel, hiding from airstrikes, or enduring the lack of food and water in Gaza. Today, I grieve for all the children and people yearning for peace and justice in the Holy Land.” These statements evoked a wide range of responses, with some applauding her advocacy and others perceiving her neutrality as a “change of stance.”

Recently, Israeli soldiers launched a missile, killing hundreds of people in a medical facility in Gaza that was overcrowded with refugees. According to reports, more than 500 Palestinians, including women and children, were killed when Israeli troops bombed al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City, which was full of displaced people, and afterwards claimed a failed missile following backlash.

Tilda Swinton, Steve Coogan, & Others Call For Gaza Ceasefire

Tilda Swinton
  • Tilda Swinton and Steve Coogan signed a letter appealing for a ceasefire in Gaza.
  • In response to the Hamas attack, Israel carried out deadly airstrikes on Gaza.
  • Human rights groups have voiced concern.

In response to the Hamas attack, Israel carried out deadly airstrikes and placed a “total siege” on Gaza, triggering evacuations in preparation for a land invasion. Human rights groups have voiced concern that such measures might be classified as war crimes. As a result, over a million people have been evacuated, with serious water shortages and the likely collapse of healthcare institutions.

In reaction to the Israel-Hamas war, prominent Hollywood celebrities such as Tilda Swinton, Steve Coogan, Miriam Margolyes, Charles Dance, Maxine Peake, and Peter Mullan have signed an open letter appealing for a ceasefire in Gaza.

The government is accused in the letter of tolerating and assisting war crimes. Among those who have signed the letter are filmmakers Mike Leigh, Asif Kapadia, and Michael Winterbottom, as well as actors Sam Heughan, Josie Long, and Frankie Boyle. The letter underscores the need to end the suffering in Gaza and requests a quick ceasefire and the unfettered introduction of humanitarian aid.

“We are witnessing a crime and a catastrophe. Israel has reduced much of Gaza to rubble and cut off the supply of water, power, food and medicine to 2.3 million Palestinians. In the words of the UN’s undersecretary for humanitarian affairs, ‘the spectre of death’ is hanging over the territory. Gaza is already a society of refugees and the children of refugees.

Now, in their hundreds of thousands, bombarded from air, sea and land, Palestinians whose grandparents were forced out of their homes at the barrel of a gun are again being told to flee – or face collective punishment on an unimaginable scale. Dispossessed of rights, described by Israel’s minister of defence as “human animals”, they have become people to whom almost anything can be done.

Our governments are not only tolerating war crimes but aiding and abetting them. There will come a time when they are held to account for their complicity. But for now, while condemning every act of violence against civilians and every infringement of international law whoever perpetrates them, our obligation is to do all we can to bring an end to the unprecedented cruelty being inflicted on Gaza.

We support the global movement against the destruction of Gaza and the mass displacement of the Palestinian people. We demand that our governments end their military and political support for Israel’s actions.

We call for an immediate ceasefire and the opening of Gaza’s crossings to allow humanitarian aid to enter unhindered, the letter says.

The letter’s other signatories include writers Tanika Gupta and Abbie Spallen, artist Poppy Jackson, and photographer Emily Rose.

British-Pakistani actor Riz Ahmed breaks silence over Israel violence in Palestine

Riz Ahmed
  • Riz Ahmed broke his silence to raise attention to the atrocities in Palestine.
  • He began a lengthy note made on his social media sites.
  • The actor stated that innocent lives are being lost.

Riz Ahmed, the Emmy Award-winning British-Pakistani actor, has broken his silence to raise attention to the atrocities in Palestine. The ‘Nimona’ actor began a lengthy note made on his social media sites by talking about the significance of narrative in taking listeners on a trip.

“As storytellers we put ourselves in other people’s shoes and ask audiences to go on that journey with us. The reason this works is because underneath our differences, we feel the same fear, joy, grief and hope. Stories work because there is no ‘us’ and ‘them’. There is only us. Any story that says otherwise, that some people aren’t like us, is a lie.”

In response to the media’s continued one-sided narrative, the actor stated that innocent lives are being lost.

“What’s happening in Gaza now, and has been happening in Palestine under the Occupation for decades, is horrific and wrong. The depth and reality of this suffering cannot be ignored.

If we look in only one direction, we will go even deeper into darkness. But this is exactly what is happening right how. We are being asked to look away while the civilians of Gaza, half of them children, are running out of time.

If we are on the side of humanity we must urgently speak up and try to avert the loss of innocent life. This means calling for an end to the indiscriminate bombing of Gaza’s civilians and vital infrastructure, the denial of food, water, and electricity, and the forced displacement of people from their homes. These are morally indefensible war crimes.”

Riz went on to say that it is more vital than ever for everyone to put themselves in the shoes of Gaza “before we all walk past the point of no return.”

Riz concluded the note by imploring everyone to speak up since “staying silent is not an option.”

“I’ll be posting links of how you can support, analysis from experts of all backgrounds advocating a just peace, and the voices of some people on the ground.”

Here is what he shared:
