The film’s sequel to the historic blockbuster Gadar: Ek Prem Katha has created immense buzz, raising expectations for a grand opening at the box office. The film has already garnered fantastic advances, with the top three national chains selling over 30,000 tickets six days before its release. PVR alone has sold over 12,000 tickets, Inox over 8,500 tickets, and Cinepolis over 9,500 tickets as of 10 pm on 4th August. The first-day projections for Gadar 2 are climbing, and it is likely to surpass the earlier expected figure of Rs 25 crores with ease.

To begin the promotional journey, Sunny Deol took a nostalgic trip back to the iconic location of Longewala in Rajasthan, where the historic Indo-Pak war was fought in 1971. This place holds significant importance in Sunny’s cinematic history as it was prominently featured in his 1997 blockbuster film, Border. Sharing his experience on Instagram, Sunny posted a series of videos and pictures from the visit.

The actor’s journey to Longewala was made in a helicopter, and upon arrival, he was seen posing in front of a military vessel, paying tribute to the brave soldiers who fought the Battle of Longewala. Sunny engaged in an arm-wrestling match with a BSF jawan and also received training to handle a submachine gun under their guidance, displaying his dedication to portraying authentic action sequences in the film.

The heartwarming highlight of the visit was when the BSF jawans sang the famous song “Udd Ja Kaale Kaava,” and Sunny couldn’t resist joining in. He danced his heart out with the jawans, creating an unforgettable and joyous moment. Additionally, Sunny paid a visit to the Tanot Mata Mandir to seek blessings for the success of Gadar 2.

The man he met, who was traveling in a bullock cart, was oblivious to the Bollywood actor he had just happened to run across. He openly admitted to Sunny that he resembled the actor Sunny Deol.

The bullock wagon that appeared in the opening scene of the video was being questioned by onlookers about the items it was hauling. He claimed to be bringing jowar (sorghum) husk for animals. Sunny then entered the picture, his back to the camera, shook hands with the man, and then he turned to face the camera from the opposite side.

The bullock-cart driver and Sunny then engaged in discussion. The man said, “Aap Sunny Deol jaise lagte hain (you look like Sunny Deol),” after the actor inquired as to his destination. Ha wohi hoon (Yeah, I am that person),” Sunny chuckled. The man was shocked and gave the actor another handshake while exclaiming, “Arre baap re” (oh my god).

Sunny Deol is seen in the Gadar 2 first look poster as a desi avatar. Release date for Gadar 2 is August 11, 2023.” Utkarsh Sharma, who played Sunny and Amisha’s son in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, is also a featured actor in the film and is the son of director Anil Sharma.

Sunny appeared in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which was directed by Anil Sharma and also starred Amrish Puri and Ameesha Patel. One of Bollywood’s highest-grossing movies ever at the time was the drama from 2001. The sequel was released more than 20 years after the first film. The future movie’s director has already started filming in Lucknow. Gadar 2 is currently being made.

In September of last year, Sunny Deol remarked that sequels to movies are sometimes “messed up” by the filmmakers, but he added that he was confident in the second instalment of his well-liked movie Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. In an interview, Sunny had stated to Pinkvilla, “We muck things up when recording part two. We must write a part two if the writing is strong, but we shouldn’t create it merely for the sake of creating one. I have a lot of faith in the movie. Everyone I meet wants to see something, and Gadar Ek Prem Katha provides that. In October, we start filming again, and we finish in December. Early 2023 will see its release.

In an interview with Hindustan Times in April 2022, director Anil Sharma discussed Gadar 2 and said, “We have worked with the same cast and characters Tara Singh (Sunny), Sakina (Amisha), and Jeete (Utkarsh Sharma). The narrative has also advanced 22 years. It’s a natural process for everyone because my son (Utkarsh) has developed from a child to a young person. It will be a new movie for new viewers and a sequel for longtime viewers.

Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ re-released in theatres

On June 15, the popular Sunny Deol movie Gadar: Ek Prem Katha 2001 is scheduled to return to theatres.

The creators of Gadar have chosen to rerelease the first installment in theatres all around the world before the release of the sequel. On August 11, Gadar 2: The Katha Continues will be released.

Anil Sharma’s 2001 drama about the partition was titled Gadar. The sequel will also be directed by him, with Zee Studios serving as producers.

The movie’s re-release date is the same as its 2001 debut date. The goal, according to the production firm, was to generate excitement for Gadar 2.

An official from Zee Studios remarked: “As a lead up to part two of Gadar, Zee Studios plan to re-release part one in digitally restored format like how Avatar was re-released. The movie will release on the same date, which is June 15.”

Sharma is also looking forward to the re-release of his chartbuster film in theatres. He expressed his excitement by saying: “I am happy people are interested in watching Gadar. Just like how Avatar and Baahubali were re-released, we too will do that with Gadar. We are in the process of planning things for the re-release of the movie.”

The Sikh Tara Singh, played by Sunny, who falls in love with the Muslim Sakina, played by Ameesha Patel, is the central character in the Gadar: Ek Prem Katha narrative. According to IndianExpress, the pair will return in the follow-up.
