The actor discussed not signing on to movies following her marriage in a 2019 interview, claiming that she was “working back to back” and had been “getting too wound up.” Anushka also discussed the notion that after getting married, women stop receiving film offers. According to her, whenever a lady takes a hiatus from her job after getting married, people start speculating about whether or not she is pregnant.

Anushka and Virat reportedly first crossed paths in 2013 while filming for a shampoo commercial. The two hid their relationship for the next few years, yet they frequently appeared together in public. They shocked the nation in 2017 by revealing that they had wed in Tuscany, Italy. Their private, low-key wedding was soon covered in pictures and videos on social media. On December 11, 2017, the cricketer and actor exchanged vows.

Anushka was questioned by Filmfare in 2019 about why she has not signed any new films following her marriage to Virat. The actor responded by saying, “That’s a deliberate decision. After Zero, I intended to take some time off. It was a frenzy after I got married. I was once again filming Sui Dhaaga: Made In India and later Zero on the sets. I had been doing back-to-back jobs. I always tried to balance my schedule so that I could see Virat. But I was overly agitated. I had to take a two-month break. I informed my team that I was not even interested in reading at this time.

Vamika Kohli was born to Anushka and Virat on January 11, 2021. Virat announced the birth of their child at the time, writing on Instagram, “We appreciate you for all your love, prayers, and well wishes. Both Anushka and the child are in good health, and we are incredibly grateful to begin this new chapter in our lives.

In the upcoming biopic Chakda Xpress, which was shot in Kolkata and the UK, Anushka will portray cricketer Jhulan Goswami. Anushka’s most recent performance was in the Netflix movie Qala (2022), when she made an unexpected cameo in the song Ghodey Pe Sawaar. In the 2018 movie Zero, which also starred Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif, she played the lead role for the last time.
