Pakistan’s all-rounder cricket Shadab Khan will miss the first ODI against Zimbabwe due to an injury.

Yesterday, the 22-year-old Shadab also rested during the second intra-squad practice match in Lahore after he complained of a strain in his left leg.

It must be noted that Pakistan and Zimbabwe will lock horns on October 30 in the first ODI at Pindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi.

Moreover, Shadab Khan also placed emphasis over playing aggressive cricket ahead of their three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe.

Khan also added that the team would not be taking the guests lightly adding that a win in the series would prepare them for their New Zealand tour later in December.

“We had an excellent build-up to the Zimbabwe series with the National T20 Cup. The tournament was highly competitive. Such tournaments will help narrow the gap between domestic and international levels. The revamped domestic system surely provides that opportunity to the players,” Shadab said.

Misbah-ul-Haq says there is no need for major changes for Zimbabwe series

Misbah-ul-Haq

Head coach Misbah-ul-Haq on Saturday indicated that there may not be wholesale changes in the Pakistani team for the upcoming home series against Zimbabwe, saying that the team is already composed of young players.

While speaking to media officials in Lahore, the former captain said that the national team is already pretty young and might only need minor tweaking instead of mass chopping and changing.

“The Pakistan team is already composed of young players,” he said. “It had lost two senior players right after the World Cup.

“[In fact], we might change a thing or two to make the team even stronger.”

Explaining that the seemingly unimportant Zimbabwe home series is actually important, Misbah said: “We should keep in mind that the points earned from the ODI series would count towards World Cup qualification.”

He also underscored that finding new combinations and creating able back-ups were among his priorities while structuring the team.

The Zimbabwean side is considered one of the weakest ones in the world, leading some to suggest that the series be used to experiment with young untried talent.

Hasan Ali all set to make his comeback on the field after major injuries

Hassan Ali

Cricket champion Hasan Ali will soon make a comeback from injury in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy after a long break of 7-8 months.

He has been out since February when he participated in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020.

Hasan Ali was the spearhead of the bowling line-up until his injury issues started halting his progress. Hasan Ali had suffered a back injury while playing a Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match in Lahore last year which kept him out of play.

After going through a rehabilitation process at the National Cricket Academy, he was declared fit to play in the final of the tournament.

However, he suffered a rib injury again while playing in the final, sidelining him for another six weeks.

He made his much-awaited comeback in PSL 2020 for Peshawar Zalmi, but he was far from his best in the tournament.

It was apparent that he was not fully fit, and scans showed that the back injury was not fully healed.

Due to persistent injuries, the 26-year-old also missed out on PCB’s central contracts.

Hasan Ali, in 2017, was named man of the tournament for his exceptional bowling throughout the tournament. He finished as the highest wicket-taker with 13 wickets including 3 in the final against arch-rivals India.

However, the legend will finally make his comeback for Central Punjab in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, scheduled to start in October.
