Pakistan and Zimbabwe cricket teams to face each other for the third one-day international (ODI) today (Tuesday).

Zimbabwe’s Chamu Chibhabha wins the toss and elected to bat first against the Green Shirts.

The third ODI match between the two teams will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The green shirts have obtained an unassailable lead in the three-match ODI series and a win in the final match will take them to the top of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League points table.

The Pakistan Cricket Board will live stream the match at their YouTube channel.

Earlier on November 01, Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe by 6 wickets in the second match of the series to take a decisive lead of 0-2 in the three-match series.

In the second ODI played at the Rawalpindi Stadium, the captain of the Zimbabwean team won the toss and elected to bat first.

After which the next batsmen could not increase the score significantly and Zimbabwe’s second wicket fell on the total score of 27.

Zimbabwe’s third wicket fell at 59 and Brian Chari returned to the pavilion with 25 runs, and for 25 overs the Zimbabwean team scored a total of 120 runs but another wicket.

The visiting team’s batsmen could not give any significant support to the team and after losing 3 wickets in a row, 7 players of Zimbabwe returned to the pavilion for 150 runs in 34 overs.

On October 30, Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi had grabbed five wickets and Wahab Riaz taken four as Pakistan thwarted a fighting Zimbabwe to win the first ODI by 26 runs in Rawalpindi.

Bagging the win from the first ODI match against Zimbabwe, Pakistan also claimed 10 points in the World Cup One-Day Super League, which determines the qualifiers for the next World Cup in 2023.

2nd ODI: Zimbabwe elects to bat first against Pakistan

Pakistan and Zimbabwe cricket teams to face each other for the second one-day international (ODI) today (Sunday).

Zimbabwe team elected to bat first after captain Chamu Chibhabha won the toss against Pakistan.

On Friday, Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi had grabbed five wickets and Wahab Riaz taken four as Pakistan thwarted a fighting Zimbabwe to win the first ODI by 26 runs in Rawalpindi.

Bagging the win from the first ODI match against Zimbabwe, Pakistan also claimed 10 points in the World Cup One-Day Super League, which determines the qualifiers for the next World Cup in 2023.

“Riaz is an experienced campaigner but the way Afridi has been rising as a wicket-taking bowler it is good for us,” captain Babar Azam had said at the time.

“The win is important as this is part of World Cup qualifying campaign,” he had added.

Squad for second ODI against Zimbabwe announced

A 15-member national squad has been announced for the second ODI against Zimbabwe. The national squad was announced by national cricket team head coach Misbah-ul-Haq.

“Only one change has been made in the squad,” said Misbah-ul-Haq

According to the details, Haris Sohail has been replaced by young Haider Ali in the squad. The head coach said,

“Haris Sohail is not fully fit yet.”

Shadab Khan, who was not feeling well, has also started training for the match. Misbah confirmed the news.

Fakhr Zaman, Haider Ali, Mohammad Rizwan, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Khushdal Shah are also part of the squad
Faheem Ashraf, Emad Wasim, Usman Qadir, Wahab Riaz, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Musa Khan join the squad.

It is pertinent to mention here that the second ODI between the two teams will be played on Sunday at Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.

Pak vs Zim: Shadab Khan likely to miss first ODI match due to leg strain

Pakistan’s all-rounder cricket Shadab Khan will miss the first ODI against Zimbabwe due to an injury.

Yesterday, the 22-year-old Shadab also rested during the second intra-squad practice match in Lahore after he complained of a strain in his left leg.

It must be noted that Pakistan and Zimbabwe will lock horns on October 30 in the first ODI at Pindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi.

Moreover, Shadab Khan also placed emphasis over playing aggressive cricket ahead of their three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe.

He said, “We won’t be taking Zimbabwe lightly at all. We are fully focused on the job at hand. A convincing victory against Zimbabwe will hold us in good stead when we depart for the tour of New Zealand.”

Khan also added that the team would not be taking the guests lightly adding that a win in the series would prepare them for their New Zealand tour later in December.

“We had an excellent build-up to the Zimbabwe series with the National T20 Cup. The tournament was highly competitive. Such tournaments will help narrow the gap between domestic and international levels. The revamped domestic system surely provides that opportunity to the players,” Shadab said.

Earlier, The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had announced the men squad for One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty-20 Internationals (T20Is) against Zimbabwe.

Sarfaraz Ahmed, Mohammad Amir, and Shoaib Malik have been dropped by the selectors.

The selectors opted for several fresh faces in the extended line-up.
