Pakistani Singer Omer claims Sonu Nigam copying his song

The music industry in Pakistan like everything else has gone through many ups and downs. One of the most frustrating issues in the music industry is the lack of proper copyright laws, especially concerning Pakistani music.

It’s disheartening to witness frequent instances of Indian artists, including legends like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and newer talents, essentially appropriating Pakistani music without giving due credit to the original creators.

The trend continues, and the latest example appears to be Sonu Nigam’s rendition of a song titled “Sun Zara” in collaboration with DJ Sheizwood for T-Series. The concern is that this might be another case of an Indian artist presenting a song that isn’t originally theirs.

According to Pakistani singer Omer Nadeem, Sun Zara is a copy of his song Aye Khuda. He released that song 14 years ago and it was available on YouTube to get copied.

He shared the post on Instagram by revealing the news, also he wrote in a caption that “he does not care too much if something like this happens at this point but they can at least mention him in credits when they are copying his song.”
