On Wednesday, Google Doodle marked the 78th birthday of Farooq Qaiser, a famous puppeteer, artist, writer, and voice actor from Pakistan.
He was most famous for bringing to life the beloved puppet character “Uncle Sargam.” This character has endeared itself to both children and adults, becoming a beloved household name throughout the country.
The temporary alteration to Google’s homepage featured Uncle Sargam and his friend, Masi Museebtay.

Google Doodles are quick changes to Google’s logo on its main webpage. They’re made to celebrate important holidays, special events, and the accomplishments of famous artists, inventors, and scientists.
Qaiser was born in 1945 in Sialkot, Pakistan. As per the Google Doodle information, he went to the National College of Arts in Lahore and got into puppetry. He was later asked to be a writer and puppet creator for the children’s TV show “Akka Bakkar.”
