Briton, 21, performs a risk-taking act by dangling 1,280 feet above the city on Dubai’s highest crane

risk-taking act

Fearless Adam Lockwood, 21, put on a work cap and mounted the building before holding to the top with just one hand and resisting the urge to fall using his upper body power.

He performed the risky stunt from a crane atop the 77-story residential tower Il Primo, which is just adjacent to the Burj Khalifa, the tallest structure in the world.

He hangs from metal bars, smeared with slick grease, giving a dizzying perspective of the city below, making it even more amazing that he didn’t fall to his death.

The moment I saw the video, I said to myself, “This is it, this is the most fantastic thing I’ve done,” Adam recalled.

“The fact that I hung off Dubai’s highest crane just outside the tallest skyscraper in the world is something remarkable, and I believe it was worth the risk and potential legal repercussions if I was discovered.

“I snuck out the rear gate unnoticed as I walked past 100 workmen wearing a hard hat to blend in.

As I was climbing the jib, I noticed that the crane was completely covered in oil that I couldn’t even see. At first, I believed it to be desert dust, but after examining my hands, I realised it was grease. My hands and feet started to slip on everything I touched.

“I nearly fell four times while ascending and descending. I also experienced some close calls.

Adam is seen in the tense video of the dangerous act from last week dangling by his hands or legs over Dubai’s busy streets.
But he moves quietly around the crane without any constraints to keep him from falling, seems utterly unconcerned by the hazards he takes.

Manchester resident Adam said: “It doesn’t feel like much to be hanging so high without any safety, but like all my other hangs, it feels almost serene. My head is blank and my pulse rate doesn’t increase.

“I was so exhausted when I came back to my lodging that I slept all day.”

The crane climb isn’t the first time Adam has pulled off a nerve-racking trick on a famous international building.

He took a cheeky photo in April while dangling from Milan’s 262-foot San Siro stadium and then climbing the famed glass pyramid at the Louvre in Paris.
