A new cycle of rain with strong winds is likely to hit most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Wednesday, said Meteorology Department.
According to the details, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa sent a letter to the district administration and relevant agencies. Areas like Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Torgarh, Kohistan, Shangla, Batgram, Buner, Mansehra, Abbottabad and Peshawar are also likely to receive heavy rains.

As per sources DG PDMA Sharif Hussain gave Instructions to District Administration and concerned agencies to take precautionary measures and remain alert in view of strong winds and rains.
“The series of rains and strong winds are likely to continue intermittently till next Wednesday 22nd June, Sharif added. Meteorological Department also feared landslides in upper areas.
Notably, PDMA has ensured the availability of small heavy machinery where there is a risk of landslides and large machinery to deal with any untoward incident due to rains and winds.
The PDMA spokesperson directs tourists to take special precautions during the trip and be aware of the weather conditions. He said that the public should report any terrible incident to the helpline 1700.
