ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has reaffirmed his party’s strong standing in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) politics, expressing confidence in the PPP’s prospects for success in the upcoming elections.
Speaking to the media after a meeting with the PPP Parliamentary Party in AJK, Bilawal highlighted the party’s historic struggle for the Kashmir cause and its continued commitment to representing the voice of the Kashmiri people at every forum.
He stated that the PPP was founded to support the rights of the Kashmiri people and has always raised its voice for them internationally. “Despite being robbed of victory overnight in the last elections, the PPP stood firm and continued its representation in the assembly,” Bilawal said.
Emphasizing that the PPP is now in a strong position to form the next government in Azad Kashmir, Bilawal urged that new elections should be held soon to reflect the will of the people.
He asserted that the issues of Kashmir are political in nature, and only the PPP has the vision and capacity to resolve them. “The PPP will not disappoint the people of Kashmir,” he promised, adding that his party’s government in AJK will safeguard the interests of the people and work for their progress.
Bilawal further declared, “The next Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir will be announced from Kashmir itself, not from Islamabad,” signaling his intent to decentralize decision-making and strengthen local political empowerment.
He concluded by reiterating that the PPP is the true representative of the people of Azad Kashmir, and its struggle for their rights and dignity will continue with full force.
