Pakistan Army determined to defend homeland, says DG ISPR

RAWALPINDI: : Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has reaffirmed that the Pakistan Army remains resolute in the defence of the homeland and will respond firmly to any external aggression.

Speaking during a special interactive session with teachers and students from various universities in Abbottabad, the DG ISPR discussed key issues including Pakistan–Afghanistan border tensions, the national security situation, and Operation Marka-e-Haq.

He emphasized that Pakistan has taken effective and comprehensive measures to combat terrorism and the menace of Khawarij (terrorists), stressing that the military is fully prepared to safeguard the country’s sovereignty.

Participants, including faculty members and students, paid rich tribute to the martyrs and Ghazis of the armed forces for their sacrifices in the defence of Pakistan.

Hazara University Vice Chancellor Dr Ikramullah Khan lauded the Pakistan Army as a true symbol of patriotism, saying the armed forces have always stood on the front lines for the defense of the nation, and the academic community stands firmly beside them.

Faculty members stressed the need to counter misinformation campaigns targeting the youth, noting that anti-state elements are attempting to mislead young minds. They emphasized the importance of providing students with accurate and verified information.

Students attending the session said the discussion offered them a valuable opportunity to gain factual insight and counter false narratives spread on social media.

They added that DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry’s responses helped clear misconceptions regarding national and provincial issues, as well as the role and commitment of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
