Imran Khan thanks people for making Peshawar rally ‘historic jalsa’

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan on Thursday thanked the people who attended the Peshawar rally on April 13 making it “a mammoth and historic jalsa (public gathering)”.

“Want to thank all those who came to our jalsa in Peshawar making it a mammoth & historic jalsa. The passion & commitment crowd showed in support of an indep sovereign Pak & their total rejection of US-initiated regime change bringing to power criminals, shows where nation stands,” Imran Khan tweeted.

On April 13, Imran Khan had thanked the people for coming out on the streets on his call on April 10 and gave a strong message to opponents and the world that Pakistan and Pakistanis were not slaves to anyone or any country and they were independent nation.

He had said he wanted to ask the Pakistanis whether they were independent nation or slaves to international powers.

He had said that they did not need any apology from the USA, adding that he would not surrender to anyone and any state.

Imran Khan had expressed these views while addressing a very gigantic public meeting in Peshawar on Wednesday night. This was his first public contact campaign after the ouster as prime minister.
