Recently, Zoya appeared on a show where she delved into the intricacies of Maha’s character in Noor Jahan, offering insights into the role and its complexities that have resonated with the audience.
Talking about choosing the Noor Jahan script, Zoya Nasir said, “I had to do this drama because of the script as it was by the brilliant Zanjabeel Asim Shah. Also, Musadik Malik was the director, and Six Sigma was the production house, so! I had to do this, I knew it would go well because of Zanjabeel’s writing, she justifies all the tracks”
Speaking about Maha’s character, Zoya said, “We worked a lot on Maha. Musadik told me how I should portray her because, at that time, I was also playing Nimmi, who was quite hyper. As a result, Nimmi was overtaking Maha. Musadik advised me to present Maha in a very casual and calm tone, as if she doesn’t care about anything. Also, Maha only thinks about herself; she came to Noor Jahan’s house only for her child and has not developed any feelings for Safeer. She is just trying to figure out which circus she has entered.”
Discussing the feedback, Zoya Nasir said, “people are rooting for Maha, fans said that, ‘we didn’t know we will be rooting for Maha’s character’, also, I knew that the comments will change and will go in Maha’s favour because of the story. So far, I am getting great feedback”.
Talking about resonating with her character Zoya said, “I connect with the practicality of it but I don’t connect with her going back to Noor Jahan’s house or in Safeer’s life and getting the first wife divorce, Zoya will never do that”.
