Hamid Rana, the acclaimed Pakistani television and theater actor, is best known for his iconic role in the PTV series Sona Chandi.

His on-screen chemistry with co-star Sheeba Hassan, who played Chandi, captured the hearts of audiences across Pakistan, making the show an instant hit. Written by the esteemed Munnu Bhai and directed by Shahzad Khalil, Sona Chandi became one of the most-watched dramas of its time.

In addition to his acting career, Hamid Rana has appeared in other notable dramas like Ya Naseeb Clinic and Girja, while also serving in government services.

Recently, Hamid Rana appeared on Neo News’ popular show Zabardast with Wasi Shah, where he opened up about some of the most challenging moments in his life.

He spoke candidly about the hardships he faced, particularly the grief of losing his mother. Rana also shared a deeply personal memory of a time when he had nothing to eat, marking it as one of the most difficult periods in his life.

Talking about his mother, Hamid Rana said, The most sad part of my life was my mother’s passing. It was the most painful time for me. I once went to the village along with my wife to meet my mother, she called me near her and slapped me with love, she said, ‘I was just craving for this’, you remember these things after you lose your loved ones. Hamid Rana further said that her mother used to pray for him till her last breath. He said, “the last thing I remembered about my mother was her complaint to me when our father passed away, she said, ‘Hamid My companion has left me’, it was quite emotional for me”.

Hamid Rana recounted the most painful and bitter memory of his life, revealing that the toughest period he endured was when he had nothing to eat for three days.

Starving and in immense pain, he looked up at the sky and experienced a profound realization from Allah. At that moment, he felt a deep sense of being special to Allah and believed he would be rewarded with something extraordinary in life.
